Priority Pass has announced that Bar Symon in Cleveland Hopkins international will be joining its network of “lounges.” This will make Bar Symon the first and only lounge/restaurant affiliated with Priority Pass at Cleveland’s Hopkins airport.
What You Get
The restaurant was created by Chef Michael Symon and is open from 04:00 AM to 08:00 PM Sunday to Friday, while on Saturday it closes half an hour earlier at 7:30 PM. The restaurant, located in Concourse C between Gates C4 and C6, serves a variety of classic dishes like Pierogi and Kielbasa, and an array of gourmet award-winning burgers. With your Priority Pass membership, you will receive the following:
- Cardholders are entitled to a $28 credit towards food and drink
- Each registered guest is also entitled to a $28 credit towards food and drink
One thing to note is that, unlike the recent addition of Bobby Van Steakhouse in JFK terminal 8 which restricted members to one guest regardless of membership level, there is no such restriction here. (Complete list of Priority Pass restaurants)
Priority Pass And Guest Access
Priority Pass has different levels of membership, and each has different levels of access for guests. By far the most generous is Priority Pass Select, which comes with several premium credit cards. With Priority Pass Select, it is the Card issuer that sets the guest policy, which means some cards are more stingy than others when it comes to guests. Cards that come with a complimentary Priority Pass Select membership include:
- The Platinum Card® from American Express
- The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card
- Chase Sapphire Reserve®
- Citi Prestige® Card
- Enrollment is required for select Amex benefits.

Our Take
Expanding its footprint and introducing an option when passing through Cleveland Hopkins International is something to be welcomed, and Bar Symon will probably see an increase in traffic since it is now the only Priority Pass facility at the airport. Although you have to wonder whether the restaurant will become overcrowded and packed with Priority Pass members enjoying a meal and a drink.

The future of Priority Pass will continue to be restaurants since it is getting harder to use them in Airport Lounges.
I use my priority pass benefit a lot but frankly there are time I want a REAL meal.
There is no club at CLE and I for one am very thankful for someplace to go as I do have to go to Clevland.
I have eaten at this resturant and it is OK – gets 4 out of 5 on Yelp
https://www.yelp.com/biz/bar-symon-brook-park?osq=bar+symon
Given the limited number of flights out of CLE and awful winters – when your stuck at CLE you are really stuck.
I have used several of the Priority Pass returnants
If the place is dead the staff is happy to see Priority Pass holders.
But understand servers survive on tips.
They are trying to survive on minimum wage and have bigger worries then if there next free upgrade to First Class is going to clear.
The more times they can turn a table the more they make.
If place is busy the staff is not thrilled to see you convert one their tables into your office
Not bad this trend, especially when the lounges doesn’t offer any food.
A question: Is it allowed to go to the lounge immediately after the visit at one of the restaurant in the network of the Priority Pass?
You can. although you’ll find the majority of restaurants available via Priority Pass are located in terminals that don’t have an accessible lounge.
I have five different credit cards that provide priority pass. I wonder if I could get 5 $28 credits.
A very nice addition
@R I wouldn’t be so sure. I’d actually wager that the terms may be even more beneficial to PP than their deal(s) with lounges, on the premise that the $29 credit will get folks in the door, and once in, folks will spend more than the $29 they’re allotted. I know I would.
They are making PP more and more tempting to me. I like that they are adding more restaurants. I wonder if they are trying to get up to par with Amex Centurion? Are Centurion lounges still better than PP?
Thanks for the info!
I just got Priority pass and haven’t used it yet. I have ten free lounge passes. Does the restaurant count as a lounge entrance?
Correct, 1 person at the restaurant = 1 lounge entrance/pass
It does seem a bit strange they are adding restaurants as surely these must cost Priority Pass more than whatever they have to pay lounges for access.
Much better option than most of the PP lounges with typically stale buffet food.
@Maryjane says: “I recently had to spend several hours at the Memphis airport without a single lounge for which I was eligible. It was a reminder of why people who are not travel savvy find air travel so annoying.”
Yes, the crazier it gets, lounges are turning into true travel oases.
One mile at a time wrote about this. https://onemileatatime.com/priority-pass-lounge-tip-included/
At Corona Beach house, an 18% gratuity was automatically applied to my bill, which according to the receipt I requested, was paid by Priority pass, as my final bill including tip was under $30.
Yes, sorry. I meant to say that it isn’t included — e.g. Automatically covered. If your total is under the allotment, it could be covered, but if you spend $30 on food/drink, you’re responsible for the tip.
nice to see another addition
Still can’t think of any good reason to go to Cleveland, but I like that this restaurant trend is continuing with PP.
nice…but too bad I won’t be able to visit Cleveland anytime soon.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a must to experience while in Cleveland.
At least they are adding more as they are also taking some away
Love this new trend of restaurant offerings through Priority Pass.
Thanks for the update on PP.
I’ll take extra options any day, especially since it’ll ease overcrowding, but I don’t know if it’s enough to offset the people getting turned away at actual PP lounges.
Everyone was writing off CLE just a few years ago. Now it seems everyone is beating a path to their door.
Besides the new PC restaurant/lounge, Cleveland has an AIRSPACE & UAL lounge as well as a USO lounge outside security for our service personnel.
I fly in and out of CLE a few times a year visiting friends, so I’ll be sure to try out this new addition.
CLE has been a regular over the years. I think dinner at the airport is now in order. Thank you.
The more options the better.
Keep it up, PP!
This is great, I am glad PP is representing better in the US.
that’s a great addition! thx.
Since we are on this topic. Would like to see something more in PHL.
Noted, in case I’m ever in Cleveland.
I still haven’t been able to try any of the Priority Pass restaurants but it’s a great option now that it’s available. It definitely gives me a better experience when traveling. I recently had to spend several hours at the Memphis airport without a single lounge for which I was eligible. It was a reminder of why people who are not travel savvy find air travel so annoying.
Good to know. Thanks!
I really want to see more of these restaurant additions. Great news.
I actually have a trip to Cleveland in June, so this will be nice. I used the Corona Beach House in Miami and enjoyed the experience. I like how Priority Pass also covers the tip automatically too.
Actually, they don’t. You’re supposed to cover the tip.
A good addition to Priority Pass.
This has always seemed a bit strange to me. Don’t you pay most of the time to use a PP lounge? So you’re paying PP for a similar credit amount at a restaurant, instead of just paying for whatever restaurant you prefer.
Definitely no. I never pay directly for PP lounge access. https://awardwallet.com/blog/credit-cards-for-airport-lounge-access/
Good info to know, but I don’t see myself in Cleveland anytime soon
Yeah, another one!!
