Qatar Airways has launched yet another promotion. This time the Doha-based carrier is offering Privilege Club members up to 12,000 Avios when they use their Visa card to book a flight before December 22, 2022.

Qatar Airways' Visa 12,000 Avios Promotion

The FIFA World Cup is just a couple of weeks away, and Qatar Airways is certainly getting plenty of passengers. Yet it's running several promotions to offer members bonus Avios for taking flights.

We've already written that Privilege Club members can earn up to 7,000 Avios with a single flight. Now there's a second promotion to earn up to 12,000 Avios when paying with your Visa card. The booking periods for both promotions coincide, but the flight dates don't overlap. So, you can't get both offers together.

To take advantage of this promotion, book a Qatar Airways flight at qatarairways.com or on the Qatar Airways mobile app before December 22, 2022 using a Visa card. Ensure you are using promo code 2210PC050 at the time of booking. Your travel period must be between January 15 and March 31, 2023.

The number of Avios you'll earn is based on the type of ticket you purchase:

• 6,000 Avios if you book an economy class ticket
• 12,000 Avios if you book a business or first class ticket.

This promotion is limited to the first 5,700 eligible participants in the USA, UK, Australia, Thailand, France, Germany, China, Netherlands, Malaysia, Indonesia, Canada, Brazil, Singapore, Ireland, and Norway. Other regions have separate limitations and bonus amounts — offering up to 100,000 Avios!

Terms and Conditions

• Members in other countries will earn a different number of Avios. Check the promotion page to see how much you can earn and if your country of residence is eligible for the offer.
• Flights must be operated by Qatar. Codeshare flights are not eligible.
• Bonus Avios usually show up right after your eligible flight.
• Cash and points flights are not eligible. Only flights paid in full with a Visa card qualify.

Our Take

Qatar Airways is certainly getting its fair share of business with the FIFA World Cup. Yet, it's nice to see them still offering these bonus Avios promotions.

The problem with this promotion is the restriction of awardees. The terms and conditions don't make it clear which 5,700 members can claim. Is it the first 5,700 to book, the first ones to fly, 5,700 for all countries or each individually, etc? You will only know if you've earned the bonus Avios after you complete your flight.

I think most people will take advantage of the other promotion for the FIFA World Cup. However, if you're planning to visit the Middle East early next year, this might be a good offer to try to take advantage of.
