Founded in 1909, Radisson Hotels operates brands including Radisson BLU, Park Plaza Hotels & Resorts, and more. The brand operated hotels around the world — until 2022, when the group sold its Radisson Americas brand to Choice Hotels. While this ended Radisson’s presence in the United States, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean, you'll still earn Radisson Rewards points at Radisson hotels across Europe, Asia, and Africa.

If you’re sitting on a stash of Radisson points and haven’t had any account activity lately, you could be at risk of losing them — even without warning. That’s because Radisson’s expiration policy is vague, potentially by design.

Here’s what you need to know to avoid losing your Radisson points to expiration, and how to track your (potential) expiration date.

Do Radisson Points Expire?

Radisson points may expire if there is no activity on your account for 24 months. If you are wondering why the rule sounds vague, it is because Radisson's terms and conditions are ambiguous. Per the Radisson Rewards terms and conditions page:

“If there is no points activity in your Radisson Rewards or Radisson Rewards for Bookers and Planners account for any 24-month period, we may, at any time and in our sole discretion and without notice or liability to you, void and cancel any or all of your points.”

Although the terms do not state that your points will expire, treating the 24 months as a hard deadline is best to avoid unpleasant surprises.

Redeeming Radisson Rewards Points

Radisson Rewards members can use points for various redemptions including:

One point to note is that redeeming points for a Priority Pass membership provides horrific value. Please don't redeem in this way. Numerous credit cards offer a Priority Pass membership at a better value.

Boosting Your Radisson Rewards Points Balance

Since exiting the Americas, Radisson Rewards does not partner with any of the major credit card points currencies in the US. However, if you are in the UK, you can transfer Membership Rewards points to Radisson Rewards at a ratio of 1:3 with a minimum transfer of 3 points.

Our Take

Radisson Rewards has become a more niche program for many U.S.-based travelers, especially after the brand’s sale of its Americas portfolio to Choice Hotels in 2022. But if you’re based in Europe or frequently travel abroad, the program can still deliver value — especially with strategic redemptions on hotel stays.

Just be cautious of its vague points expiration policy. To avoid any surprises, treat the 24-month inactivity window as a firm cutoff — and track your account with AwardWallet to stay ahead of any potential expiration date.
