Update: After several extensions, the Alaska Lounge membership price increase discussed below finally took effect.

Alaska Airlines will raise the prices for Alaska Lounge and Lounge+ memberships on February 12, 2025 (originally February 1st, then 3rd, then 7th). For those keeping score at home, this is the second year in a row that prices will increase.

Here's what Alaska Airlines (and Oneworld) frequent flyers need to know about this price adjustment — and how you can save on the cost of membership before the prices increase.

Alaska Lounge Prices Are Going Up Soon

Starting February 12, 2025, you'll pay more for an Alaska Lounge or Lounge+ membership. However, this price hike is weird because despite being announced months ago, the full details have (still) yet to be revealed.

There's a banner image on Alaska Airlines' lounge information webpage indicating that there will be a new “starting at” price for both types of lounge memberships. Next year, an Alaska Lounge membership will start at $595, while a Lounge+ membership will start at $795. But that's all we know about the future pricing, as there's no granular breakdown.

The “starting at” prices suggest the airline will continue to offer better rates to some travelers — although Alaska is eliminating the $100 discount for Mileage Plan elites after January 31, 2025.

It's anyone's guess as to when Alaska Airlines will share these additional prices — or how expensive a membership could get. Why it's still a mystery is a little confusing. But the message is clear: higher prices are coming soon.

Current cost of Alaska Airlines Lounge and Lounge+ membership

If you subscribe today, you could pay one of four prices for an Alaska Airlines Lounge membership. The bill will depend on whether you have Mileage Plan elite status and whether you'd like to access Alaska's nearly 90 partner lounges alongside its nine branded outposts.

  • Lounge membership
    • Elite (MVP, MVP Gold, Gold 75K, Gold 100k) member: $450
    • Non-elite member: $550
  • Lounge+ membership
    • Elite (MVP, MVP Gold, Gold 75K, Gold 100k) member: $650
    • Non-elite member: $750

At a minimum, prices for an Alaska Airlines Lounge membership will get at least 32% more expensive next year. That's the difference between the cheapest price you could pay now as an elite member and the cheapest price available come February 12, 2025.

Long story short, if you're on the fence about getting an Alaska Lounge membership, the time to act is by February 11, 2025.

What's the difference between an Alaska Lounge and a Lounge+ membership?

The primary difference between an Alaska Lounge and a Lounge+ membership is the number of locations you can access as a member. With a standard membership, you're limited to nine Alaska Lounge locations across the following six airports:

  • Anchorage (ANC)
  • Los Angeles (LAX)
  • New York-Kennedy (JFK)
  • Portland (PDX) — two lounges
  • San Francisco (SFO)
  • Seattle/Tacoma (SEA) — three lounges

Conversely, if you pay up for a Lounge+ membership, you can access Alaska's nine lounges plus American Airlines Admirals Clubs worldwide when flying on an American- or Alaska-operated itinerary, Qantas Club locations on Qantas-operated itineraries, three select United Club lounges, plus a few other partner lounges across the United States.

How to save on an Alaska Lounge membership

If you can take advantage of it, an Alaska Lounge or Lounge+ membership might be a great investment. Even better, there are two main ways to take a little off the cost of an annual membership.

To save the most money on the cost of a Lounge or Lounge+ membership, you'll want to cover the cost with your Alaska Airlines Visa Signature® credit card or Alaska Airlines Visa® Business card. If you use one of these cards to purchase, you can take $100 off the sticker price of an Alaska Lounge+ membership.

Alternatively, if you hold MVP, MVP Gold, MVP Gold 75K, or MVP Gold 100K elite status in the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan program, you can take advantage of the elite discount rate as mentioned above — but only through January 31, 2025. But, you can't combine the elite status and credit card discounts.

Final Thoughts

If an Alaska Lounge or Lounge+ membership is in the cards, you'll want to act fast to take advantage of the current pricing before it goes up on February 12, 2025.

You can save money on the cost of a membership if you have elite status with Alaska or carry an Alaska Airlines credit card. You also can save money by buying now, before the price goes up, but you'll need to act soon. February 12 will be here before you know it.
