Starting June 21, 2024, there will be a new Singapore Airlines route between Singapore (SIN) and London Gatwick (LGW). What's most noteworthy about this new route is the award availability — especially in Singapore Airlines' business class cabins.
Here's all you need to know if you want to snag space in this great cabin.
Singapore Airlines Business Class Award Availability
Right now, we're seeing a ton of availability in both directions of the new Singapore Airlines route between London Gatwick (LGW) and Singapore (SIN). Even though the route won't commence until June 21, 2024, seats are now bookable with KrisFlyer miles, and it's a great time to reserve one before the award space dries up.

Saver-level routes in business class between Singapore and Europe price at 103,500 KrisFlyer miles, plus taxes and fees that vary depending on the direction you're flying. One-way awards to Gatwick will command an extra $280 in taxes, which is much more substantial than the $65 in fees for flights heading to Singapore.
Here's a snapshot of the dates you can book.

How To Book Singapore Airlines Business Class
The best way to book Singapore Airlines business class is through Singapore Airlines itself. To start your search:
- Visit the Singapore Airlines website.
- Click “redeem flights” on the flight search widget.
- Log into your KrisFlyer/PPS account.
- Enter your route, date, number of passengers, and select “Business.”
- Click “Search.”
Singapore will return search results for the date you searched — plus or minus three days. Pick the date you want to book and select the cheapest available award type.
If saver awards aren't available for the date you want, you can waitlist for the award. However, if you go this route, you'll need enough KrisFlyer miles in your account to pay for the ticket if availability opens up.
You also can join the waitlist via phone if you don't have enough KrisFlyer miles in your account. Call 833-727-0118 if you're in the U.S., or search Singapore's international numbers for other countries. Your mileage may vary, as some agents will give you generous terms while others will charge a phone booking fee and give less generous terms for when the hold expires.
Book through partner award programs and save
If 103,500 KrisFlyer miles is a bit out of your price range, the good news is that you have another option to book the same award through one of Singapore Airlines' Star Alliance partners.
The cheapest way to book the route between London (LGW) and Singapore (SIN) is through Air Canada Aeroplan. Instead of paying 103,500 KrisFlyer miles, you'll pay just 80,000 Aeroplan points for the same business-class seat.

The downside is that not all Singapore business class award availability is bookable through Air Canada Aeroplan. Taxes and fees are a bit higher, and we generally only see one business class seat available per flight when searching through Aeroplan. Still, it's an excellent option if you can make it work.
You can transfer points from several major transferrable point programs to Aeroplan to book this award:
