Key Terms
- Bookings must be made by June 30, 2019.
- The promotion is valid for travel between July 1 and July 31, 2019, inclusive.
- Receive a 30% discount on award redemptions operated by Singapore Airlines and Silk Air.

Participating destinations
Unfortunately, there are no U.S. destinations included in the promotion. However, there are several interesting options if you are traveling further afield.
- Singapore to Dubai (promotion only applies to flights in that direction, not roundtrip) will set you back 34,300 miles in business or 17,500 miles in economy.
- Singapore to Düsseldorf (blackout dates apply) or Frankfurt is available for 64,400 miles in business class one way or 26,600 miles in economy one way.
- Singapore to Johannesburg will cost 34,300 miles in business class one way, or 17,500 miles in economy one way.
There are dozens of destinations with discounts, so be sure to check out the full list on the Singapore Spontaneous Escapes page.
Our Take
The absence of U.S. destinations is disappointing. However, there are some excellent values if you're visiting Singapore this July. Our favorite deal is Singapore to Johannesburg in business class for 34,300 miles one way, which could be a really cool way to visit South Africa in style. If you are looking to travel around Asia in July 2019, then this promotion is worth a closer look. Remember, if you're transferring points to Singapore Krisflyer, it will typically take 12-36 hours for them to post, so you will want to get started right away.

The most valuable spontanious escapes JNB, AU+NZ and US destinations. How often SQ offers these routes?
I fly SIN-JNB on SQ in J a few times a year. It’s a really great way to head to South Africa and the connection to CPT is a real bonus. They’ve just put on a second flight on some days so good to see it being promoted as part of the spontanious escapes.
Successfully redeemed in one of the previous Spontaneous Escapes, Thanks!
How often SQ Spontaneous Escape? These only from SIN or can transit via SIN? Thanks
If I hadn’t just gone to South Africa, I might have considered it. I believe Cathay Pacific is the only other carrier with a route from there to East Asia.
They only offer that current month for discounted travel. A lot of people already booked. So no good.
The spontaneous escapes deals are great, it’s something I look forward to seeing each month.
Wish I could take advantage of this offer.
The closest destination to the U.S. in this promotion appears to be Dusseldorf so not very useful for us U.S. based flyers unless you happen to be near Singapore or one of the listed destinations.
Did not know that these were out here. Nice to know.
I do prefer the AF ones. Just wish they all had more options. I understand why they don’t but still wish.
I am sad that this is ending. I am sure it was very useful for many people. Hope it’s not trend of benefit decreases on the whole.
There will be a whole new set of Spontaneous Escapes soon. The promotion isn’t ending, just the June list of destinations 🙂
I believe if you call, Singapore can put flights on hold if you’re waiting for points to transfer
The official policy is no. But I don’t doubt it is technically possible if you get the right agent… From dozens of attempts personally, I’d put a hold with Singapore in the extremely rare column. Anybody else had success with this?
I like Singapore Airlines. I hope that I ca find a good deal.
great airline worth taking advantage of its promos
It’s very last minute. You can only book for next month. So I assume not a lot of availability and/or not very requested destinations.
The offers of Miles and More and Flying Blue are much better in my point of view.
so many great things are happening in Singapore! What a great destination it is!!
Great airline, but very limited for 99% of us here on this deal.
Does SQ ever include the Suites class for spontaneous escape awards?
Good question… I don’t recall a case where suites class was included. Perhaps on a shorter route like SIN to Australia?
thanks for the notice!! would love US inclusion but not for everyone.
South Africa is on my list of places to visit. Visit in Style! I am worried about farm attacks there though.
This seems like a very limited use opportunity. Too bad there arent US Destinations
Amazing Airline. Love Singapore
Love to see that enthusiasm, since I’ll be flying them for the first time later this year.
Have there ever been US routes included? If so, what is the frequency?
Yes, definitely. Last one I recall was Feb or march with EWR (premium economy) and LAX or SFO in business. I’d say more than half of the promos have included US destinations.
Very limited use here in US, but if you were in Singapore could be nice to explore at a discount.
Thanks for the reminder!
Singapore to Johannesburg will cost 34,300 miles in business class one way – looks like a good deal.
Disappointing no US destinations and the fact that many people have already planned and booked travel if trips are planned for July 2019.
