Royal Jordanian has long offered a status match to travelers living in Europe or the Middle East who hold status with a qualifying airline or hotel loyalty program. Through this status match, travelers can match up to Royal Jordanian Royal Club Gold Sparrow status, which comes with Oneworld Sapphire benefits for a reasonable fee.
The catch is that the offer isn't available to applicants from the U.S. But if you live in an eligible country, it's worth considering. The benefits are pretty lucrative — think lounge access even when you're flying American Airlines in coach.
Here are the details and why this offer might be worth taking advantage of.

Overview of the Royal Jordanian Royal Club Status Match Offer
Royal Jordanian’s status match is available through StatusMatch.com, and there are two ways you can participate (provided you live in an eligible country).
First, you can match an eligible airline status to Royal Club, up to Gold Sparrow (Oneworld Sapphire). Second, you can match an eligible hotel status to Royal Club, but only up to Silver Jay (Oneworld Ruby).

Who can match to Royal Jordanian Royal Club?
To apply for a Royal Jordanian status match, you'll need to live in one of the following countries (and be able to show proof of residence) to apply:

What benefits will I get by matching to Royal Club?
Holding the lowest status tier in an eligible airline (plus most hotel statuses) will grant you Silver Jay status, which also scores you Oneworld Ruby status. This means access to priority check-in, priority on waitlists and when on standby, and more.
However, the most value comes from having status at least one step above your airline’s lowest tier. If that's you, you can match to Gold Sparrow, which offers Oneworld Sapphire benefits.
Oneworld Sapphire is highly sought after because it grants lounge access across all Oneworld partners — even if you're not flying on Royal Jordanian. This includes access to American Airlines Admirals Clubs or American Airlines Flagship Lounges whenever you travel on a Oneworld airline — even if the travel is only on U.S. domestic flights. However, this status does not include complimentary upgrades on American Airlines flights, if you were wondering.
So, wherever you are in the world, there's a great chance one of nearly 700 Oneworld lounges isn't far away. You'll be able to enter courtesy of your Gold Sparrow status.

Alongside the lounge access, you'll also have access to priority check-in, extra baggage allowances, and benefits on Royal Jordanian flights, like complimentary upgrades to Royal Jordanian's Crown Class.
The matched status is valid for 12 months. To extend it, you must earn the necessary tier miles or fly a specific number of qualifying segments.
How to submit a Royal Club status match
Matching to Royal Jordanian Royal Club is a simple process. You'll need to visit the dedicated website and enter a few relevant details, including your Royal Jordanian Royal Club number. If you don't have an account, you can create one here. Then, make sure to add it to your AwardWallet account.
If you're eligible to match, you'll also need to prove both your residency and the elite status you hold with an eligible airline or hotel. You can do this by submitting a photo of your status card.
The promotion's terms suggest you'll hear back instantly, though it can take up to five days for the match to be confirmed and reflected in your Royal Jordanian account.
What does it cost to apply for the Royal Jordanian status match?
There is a fee to match to Royal Club status, and the amount depends on whether you're matching from an airline or hotel loyalty program. For airline statuses, the fees are:
- Silver Jay: $49
- Gold Sparrow: $149
For hotel statuses, you'll pay $49 to status match to Silver Jay.
In the grand scheme of things, this is a small price for 12 months of high-quality benefits, especially when considering the price tag of lounge access alone.
Final Thoughts
Royal Jordanian is running a status match offer — but unfortunately it's not open to applicants from the United States. And it's sad because the benefits are incredibly lucrative. But if you're eligible, you can match to a Oneworld Sapphire-equivalent status level from just $149. This is a rare opportunity, so consider acting soon so you don't miss out.
