Alaska Mileage Plan No-Notice Devaluation of Japan Airlines Awards
This week, Alaska Mileage Plan made unannounced changes to the mileage rates for awards on Japan Airlines. Award rates have now increased by as much as 100% than before. Do Japan Airlines JAL Mileage Bank Miles Expire?
Your Japan Airlines JAL Mileage Bank miles will expire at the end of the month 36 months from when they were earned. Unfortunately, there is no way to extend the validity of your miles. If you let them expire, Japan Airlines Mileage Bank miles cannot be reinstated.
Japan Airlines to Allow Award Bookings 360 Days Before Departure
JAL Mileage Bank will now open its award calendar for JAL operated flights 360 days out, up from the previous 330 days. This is good news for JAL Mileage Bank members, but not so great for some partners. Here's the full scoop.
JAL Award Chart Devaluation Coming November 20, 2018
Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced a devaluation to its JAL Mileage Bank award chart. The coming change will take effect on November 20, 2018; however, don’t wait until the last minute to make an award booking, since the exact deadline is 08:59 Japanese time on November 20, 2018—which is late afternoon/evening on November 19, 2018 in the US.
