Japan Airlines to Allow Award Bookings 360 Days Before Departure
JAL Mileage Bank will now open its award calendar for JAL operated flights 360 days out, up from the previous 330 days. This is good news for JAL Mileage Bank members, but not so great for some partners. Here’s the full scoop.
Air Italy Launching Flights to Chicago, But Later Than Originally Planned
Air Italy has pushed back the launch date for its new route from Chicago to Milan to sometime in 2020. The flight will be the airline’s sixth North American destination. Although it’s disappointing to see the date bumped from May 2019 into 2020, it’s good news to see that it hasn’t been canceled entirely.
JetBlue Sets its Sights on Europe
It seems that JetBlue has set its sights on the lucrative transatlantic market! What is even more interesting is that the airline has not set its sights on competing with the low-cost carriers like Norwegian and WOW air, instead, they seem to be going after premium customers, with aircraft with a heavy Mint configuration.
United Adds New Transcon Route and Improves Amenities
United is bringing a slew of changes to its transcon business, including a new premium transcon route, and improving amenities in Business class and Economy Plus. In its press release, United confirmed that the Summer of 2017 will add the Boston to San Francisco route as a premium service route.
