In this post, we'll teach you how to transfer Chase points to United in just a few simple steps.

How To Transfer Chase Points to United

The first step in converting your Chase Ultimate Rewards points into United MileagePlus miles is to log in to the Ultimate Rewards website and view your account dashboard.

For those with multiple Chase cards, choose the card with enough points for the transfer. If you have some cards that don't directly transfer to Ultimate Rewards partners, you might need to combine your Ultimate Rewards into one card before starting the transfer process.

Find the Ultimate Rewards transfer partners

In the navigation menu, click on “Travel” and then “Transfer points to partners.” Make sure you’ve selected a Chase card eligible for transfers. Otherwise, you won’t see these options.

After clicking “Transfer points to partners,” you'll be taken to the “Transfer Points” page, where Chase’s complete list of transfer partners is displayed.

To transfer Chase points to United, select “United Airlines” from the list.

If Chase offers a transfer bonus to United, you'll see it displayed under “Bonus offers” at the top of your screen — but note that we've never seen a transfer bonus from Chase to United.

Link your Chase Ultimate Rewards and United MileagePlus accounts

Once you select United MileagePlus, click “Transfer Points” at the bottom of the page. Here, you’ll need to fill out a simple form to link your Chase and United accounts. Make sure you have your MileagePlus number handy, as Chase will ask for your loyalty account details.

The name on your loyalty account must match the name of a primary cardholder or an authorized user. Otherwise, the form won't process. It's also important that your loyalty number is correct. Any errors in the entry process can result in a transfer delay, which may require a call to Chase to sort out the issues.

If you've previously initiated a transfer from Chase to United, you shouldn't need to fill in the loyalty number again. Chase will remember your details.

Transfer Chase points to United MileagePlus

Now for the most exciting part: converting your Chase Ultimate Rewards into United miles. To initiate the transfer, enter the number of points you want to turn into miles.

All transfers must occur in 1,000-point increments. For every 1,000 Ultimate Rewards points you transfer, you'll receive 1,000 MileagePlus miles. However, Chase sometimes offers transfer bonuses, which means you'll earn a premium on the points you transfer to United.

Before moving any further, double-check that the amount you're transferring is correct. After you've confirmed, click “Submit.” You'll shortly receive notice from Chase via email that your points transfer to United is being processed.

In almost all cases, Chase points transfer to United miles instantly, which means you'll have access to your new stash of MileagePlus miles as soon as you log into your United account. You can start redeeming as soon as they show up!
