Delta has launched a flash sale on SkyMiles redemptions for flights to/from New York/LaGuardia. Tickets must be booked by 11:59 pm, October 12, 2016, for flights departing December 1 through December 20, 2016.

Destinations include (but are not limited to):

  • Atlanta
  • Boston
  • Chicago
  • Dallas
  • Detroit
  • Indianapolis
  • Minneapolis
  • Nashville
  • Orlando
  • Raleigh-Durham
  • Tampa
  • Washington D.C.

I did a quick search and was able to find flights for 10,000 SkyMiles round-trip plus $11.20 in taxes/fees for a quick trip up to New York for a family visit from Savannah.

Delta Flash Sale SAV to LGA

The cash price for these flights would otherwise be $142.

You can review the terms and conditions of the flash sale, but there is nothing surprising that stands out.

When booking the flights be sure to use a card to maximize the return on the bit of taxes you'll pay while also providing trip protection. We'd suggest looking at the Citi Prestige® Card or The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card which offers some of the best travel delay/cancellation protections available, just for being a cardmember.

You can choose to store all of your loyalty account passwords locally on your device, instead of storing them in our secure database. If you choose this option, you can (and should) periodically back them up into a file. In the event that you delete your cookies, these passwords will be deleted. With a proper backup, you'd be able to safely restore from that backup file.
