Want to bank some bonus United MileagePlus miles? Chase, United Airlines, and Visa are teaming up to offer rewards for donations to three select charities during Black History Month. Through March 31, 2024, you can earn up to 10 United MileagePlus miles per dollar donated using an eligible United co-branded credit card.
Here's a look at the eligible charities and the cards you can use to bank some bonus United miles.
Donate to Black Charities and Get United Miles
Presently, you can earn bonus United MileagePlus miles on donations to select charities for Black History Month. However, the donation period extends past February. You can donate until March 31, 2024. But there's an extra incentive to donate using a United Airlines co-branded Chase card, as you'll earn bonus miles by donating to three causes.
The earning rates are broken down as follows:
- Earn 5X MileagePlus miles per $1 when you donate up to $500 total
- Earn 10X MileagePlus miles per $1 for additional donations, up to $1,500 in total donations per eligible card
Based on how the bonuses are structured, you'll earn 12,500 MileagePlus miles upon donating the maximum amount of $1,500. AwardWallet users typically redeem MileagePlus miles for 1.94¢ apiece, making the full bonus worth about $227 in award travel.
