Pricing of Cottages.com Rentals Using Wyndham Rewards Points
The cost to redeem points for Cottages.com is the same as booking Vacasa rentals through Wyndham Rewards. Properties will cost you 15,000 points per bedroom, per night. However, if you have a Wyndham credit card, you will get a 10% discount. This brings the cost down to 13,500 points per bedroom, per night. These can provide some great value, depending on the property.
All of the cottages have minimum stay requirements, but you can pay a mix of points and cash if you don't have enough points to cover the entire stay.
This quaint house in Cumbria, England has two bedrooms and sleeps five. Staying for a seven nights would cost you 210,000 Wyndham Rewards points (15,000 * two bedrooms * seven nights).
Price Cap When Using Wyndham Rewards Points for Cottages.com Bookings
Recently, Wyndham changed the pricing scheme for Vacasa rentals, but this hasn't extended to bookings with Cottages.com. The limit for Cottages.com rentals is set at $300 per bedroom per night. Only those listings under this cap are bookable with Wyndham points. Luckily, you can easily search which properties qualify for points bookings here.
One note about searching, though: Some of the properties only list rates for a week-long stay, which definitely changes the math a bit. Essentially, some rentals will charge you the same price whether you are staying a week or three nights. It isn't super clear on the listing until you play around with the available dates. I found several that listed the same price for both a few days and a week.
How To Book Cottages.com With Wyndham Points
Once you have an idea of the property you are interested in booking, you will need to call to book the stay. There is no way to book online when using Wyndham points. The phone number listed on the website is 866-232-8628. Wyndham states the following as directions for booking:

- The number of bedrooms and how many points you should be paying
- If you should be getting a 10% discount for being a Wyndham credit card holder

You can earn points on Wyndham stays. For each qualifying stay at a Wyndham Rewards property, you'll earn 10 points for every dollar spent. Wyndham promotions and elite status can boost this earning rate even more. Even better, use your Wyndham credit card and stack your earnings.

- Wyndham Shopping Portal: As with other shopping portals, you can earn Wyndham points by clicking through the portal links to online stores and services.
- Wyndham promotions: You may be able to earn double rewards, extra points every night, or take advantage of other offers. Check the current list to see what's available.
Buying Wyndham points
If you're coming up short on other methods, it is possible to buy points and miles. Purchasing points is only advisable when the redemption value exceeds the price at which you can buy the points. The Wyndham Rewards partnership with Cottages.com is a perfect example of where this could make sense.
- Wyndham Rewards sells points at a base of 1.3 cents per point. At that rate, you can buy 15,000 Wyndham Rewards points for $195. Then, you can redeem those same points for a Cottages.com vacation rental for up to $300 in value at a rate of up to 2 cents per point.
