How To Earn Hertz President's Circle Elite Status
Typically, to earn Hertz's top-tier status, travelers need to complete 15 rentals or spend $3,000 on qualifying rentals in a calendar year. However, if you have the Capital One Venture X, there's a shortcut. President's Circle is yours for free; you just have to enroll in the benefit.
Previously, this was a limited-time Capital One Venture X benefit. But lucky for us, Capital One made this feature permanent in September 2024.
Don't have the Capital One Venture X yet? Here's the current offer:

- 10X miles per $1 on hotels and rental cars booked via Capital One Travel
- 5X miles per $1 on purchases through Capital One Entertainment
- 5X miles per $1 on flights when booking via Capital One Travel
- 5X miles per $1 on vacation rentals booked via Capital One Travel
- 2X miles per $1 on all other eligible purchases

How To Enroll in Hertz President's Circle Through Capital One Venture X
To enroll in Hertz President's Circle through your Capital One Venture X, start by logging in to your Capital One account. Click on your card, then click “Rewards & benefits,” then “View all benefits.”

Next, scroll down until you see “Hertz President's Circle® Status” and click it. Then select the enroll button.

After that, follow the prompts on Hertz's website to create or link your account and enroll.
Capital One notes that it can take 24 to 72 hours for your President's Circle status to be reflected in your Hertz account, so don't wait until the day of your rental to enroll.

Why It's Worth Enrolling
Even if Hertz isn't your preferred rental car agency, you should still take advantage of enrolling in President's Circle. Many other companies, such as Enterprise and Avis allow you to status match. This means you could potentially turn your complimentary Hertz President's Circle status into elite status — and additional perks — with a rental car company you use more often.
Other Capital One Venture X benefits
President's Circle is just one of the many benefits that come with the Capital One Venture X. A lot of them are well-known — things like lounge access, a $300 travel credit, 10,000 anniversary miles, and a TSA PreCheck/Global Entry credit.
Others are lesser-known — dining and entertainment access, curated collections of Premier and Lifestyle hotels, cell phone protection, and a variety of trip protections.
When added up, these many benefits easily offset the card's manageable $395 annual fee, especially given that it's the lowest fee among comparable premium cards.
