If you're a cardholder of the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card or the Capital One Venture X Business, your lounge access is about to change. Starting March 1, 2025, you will no longer have full Plaza Premium lounge access with Venture X-branded cards.
Plaza Premium lounges aren't as widespread as Priority Pass lounges, but they have a substantial global presence. With over 250 locations in more than 40 countries — including major airports in London, Hong Kong, Toronto, Singapore, and Sydney — Plaza Premium has established itself as a highly accessible lounge network for a wide range of travelers.
Plus, Plaza Premium lounges are often considered slightly nicer and less crowded than Priority Pass lounges, so having Plaza Premium access in addition to Priority Pass was a valuable perk of the Capital One Venture X. This news (unfortunately) comes as a bit of a surprise.
Here's what you need to know.

Capital One Venture X and Venture X Business Are Losing Plaza Premium Lounge Access
Starting March 1, 2025, cardholders of both the Capital One Venture X and Venture X Business will no longer have (direct) access to Plaza Premium lounges. This change was quietly posted on the Capital One Travel website under the FAQs section.

Capital One also notified cardholders on recent statements, which you may have seen.

Plaza Premium Lounges Are Accessible Through Priority Pass — With a Catch
The silver lining is that many Plaza Premium lounges are part of the Priority Pass network. Capital One Venture X and Venture X Business cardholders can enroll in a complimentary Priority Pass Select membership as a benefit of both cards.
Members will still be able to enter most Plaza Premium lounges worldwide (but not all). For example, here is a Plaza Premium lounge at Singapore Changi Airport that can be accessed through Priority Pass:

However, there are additional restrictions when accessing Plaza Premium lounges through Priority Pass that you'll want to pay close attention to:
- Shower fees – You'll have to pay a fee to use the showers in Plaza Premium lounges. This only applies when accessing Plaza Premium lounges through Priority Pass and wasn’t the case with direct Plaza Premium access from the Capital One Venture X and Venture X Business that you get through February 28, 2025.
- Time allowance – With Priority Pass, you can only stay in Plaza Premium lounges for 2 hours. This is an hour shorter than what's allowed in most other lounges.

Other cards that offer access to Plaza Premium Lounges
Despite the loss of Plaza Premium access with the Capital One Venture X cards, there are still other options for full access to these spaces by virtue of what's in your wallet.
The Platinum Card® from American Express and The Business Platinum Card® from American Express still offer full Plaza Premium lounge access. However, these cards come with significantly higher annual fees than the Capital One Venture X or Venture X Business, so they’re not direct replacements per se.

Bottom Line
Starting March 1, 2025, Capital One Venture X and Venture X Business cardholders will no longer have direct access to Plaza Premium lounges. However, many Plaza Premium locations remain accessible through Priority Pass, but with restrictions like two-hour stay limits and fees for shower suites.
For most travelers, this change won’t have a major impact — unless you frequently visit Plaza Premium locations that aren’t included in Priority Pass. In that case, these upcoming changes will surely sting.
