Imagine a free business credit card program that works in conjunction with your card's rewards program and automatically provides savings with some of the world's most popular merchants. Sounds too good to be true, but that is exactly what the Visa SavingsEdge program is. If you have a business credit card that is branded as a Visa, you are likely eligible to enroll in Visa SavingsEdge.
How to Know If You Are Eligible and Enrollment
To confirm whether your card is eligible, you need to enter the first six digits of your business Visa card at the bottom of VisaSavingsEdge.com. If you qualify, you will be allowed to create an account and enroll in the SavingsEdge program. After that, you do not need to do anything other than use your card to enjoy the SavingsEdge discounts.
Eligible cards include Visa Business credit cards, Visa Business Platinum credit cards, Visa Business check cards, Visa Business Platinum check cards and Visa Business Signature cards. You can enroll up to 10 eligible Visa business cards under a single SavingsEdge account.
If your card is not eligible for the SavingsEdge program, you will not be allowed to enroll. Personal Visa cards are not eligible to enroll.
Discount Rates
The exact discount rate depends on the merchant and even within each merchant they could fluctuate from time to time. Most discounts are in the 2%-5% range; however, there are discounts up to 20%.
Once you shop at a participating merchant, you will receive a separate credit in connection with that transaction on your credit card statement. Assuming a participating merchant is offering a 5% discount, and you spend $100 at that merchant, you will receive a credit of $5 on your credit card statement.
The credit will look like this on your statement:

Double Dip
The top reason to love the SavingsEdge program is that it works in addition to your card's rewards program. That means that if you have an Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card, for example, you can enroll in SavingsEdge and earn both Chase Ultimate Rewards points and SavingsEdge credits for your eligible purchases. As such, your purchases can become even more rewarding at no additional cost.
Bottom Line
NOTE: The Amex OPEN Savings program has ended as of May 31, 2018. Catch the details here.
Similar to American Express' OPEN for Amex business cardmembers, Visa SavingsEdge is a complimentary program that allows Visa business cardholders the opportunity to earn statement credits for purchases with participating merchants. Unlike OPEN, the list of participating SavingsEdge merchants is long and covers a broad range of categories. Best of all, you can double dip by simultaneously earning rewards points with your card's rewards program in addition to your statement credits.
If you have a Visa business card and have not yet enrolled in SavingsEdge, make sure you do so before completing your next purchase at any of the dozens of participating merchants. It's free, simple and can be extremely rewarding.
