Wyndham Earner Plus Card Benefits
Besides the welcome bonus, the Wyndham Earner Plus Card has some decent benefits that may make it worth paying the annual fee to keep year after year.
Complimentary Wyndham Platinum elite status
Wyndham Platinum elite status is the middle tier in Wyndham Rewards. It isn't worth a ton, but it can give you a few perks, such as preferred room choice, 15% bonus points on paid stays, early check-in and late checkout, rental car benefits with Avis and Budget, and a status match to Caesars Rewards.

Discount on award stays
One outstanding perk of the Wyndham Earner Plus Card is that you'll pay 10% fewer points when redeeming for free nights through the Wyndham go free program. That includes using Wyndham points for Vacasa vacation rentals, meaning you could pay 13,500 points instead of 15,000 points per night.
Anniversary points
Each year on your anniversary, you'll receive 7,500 bonus Wyndham Rewards points after paying the $75 annual fee. With AwardWallet users redeeming their Wyndham points at 1.27¢ each, the 7,500 bonus points are worth almost as much as the annual fee.
Introductory APR on balance transfers
With the Wyndham Earner Plus Card, there is an introductory APR of 0% on balance transfers for 15 months on balance transfers made within 45 days of account opening. There is also a balance transfer fee of 5% (minimum of $5).

Access to Vacasa vacation rentals
While all Wyndham Rewards members can use their Wyndham points for Vacasa vacation rentals, those with the Wyndham Earner Plus Card card can get a decent stash of points to use for vacation rentals. While Wyndham and Vacasa did change (devalue) the number of points required for Vacasa vacation rentals in early 2024, this can still be one of the best uses of Wyndham points. More on that in the redeeming section below.

Wyndham Earner Plus Card Earning Rates
On everyday purchases, you'll earn Wyndham Rewards points at the following rates:
- 6X points on Hotels by Wyndham and gas purchases
- 4X points on eligible dining and grocery purchases (excluding Target® and Walmart®)
- 1 point per dollar on all other purchases (excluding Wyndham timeshare down payments)
- If you want Wyndham Rewards points without paying an annual fee, look into the Wyndham Rewards Earner® Card. It has similar perks — including access to Vacasa vacation rentals, 7,500 annual bonus points, and the 10% discount on award stays — but with no annual fee and only automatic Gold status.
- If you want points you can use with Wyndham and other programs, consider the Citi Strata Premier℠ Card. You'll earn flexible points that you can transfer to 21 programs, including Wyndham, Choice Hotels, Accor, JetBlue, Air France, and more. You won't have any specific benefits with Wyndham, but you can get up to $100 back on a hotel booking of $500 or more in the Citi Travel℠ portal each year. Learn more in our Citi Strata Premier review.
- If you want flexible rewards to use with Wyndham plus simple earnings, the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card may be right for you. You can use Capital One miles with 19 airline and hotel partners, including Wyndham, and you'll earn 2X on every purchase, plus 5X on hotels, vacation rentals and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel. The simple earning structure means you'll never earn less than 2 miles per dollar spent, though you won't get any specific benefits with Wyndham. Our Capital One Venture Card review has further details.

You'll find your best returns on purchases at Wyndham hotels and possibly gas purchases. If you have a great use for Wyndham Rewards points, such as lucrative Vacasa vacation rental bookings or Wyndham properties when cash rates are high, you might also find value in using the card for dining and grocery purchases. Otherwise, you're likely better off spending with another card in many circumstances.

Redeeming Points With the Wyndham Earner Plus Card
On average, AwardWallet users redeem Wyndham Rewards points for 1.27¢ apiece. Here's a look at all the ways you can redeem Wyndham Rewards points.
Wyndham go free stays
The most straightforward way to redeem your Wyndham points is for free stays at Wyndham hotels. Wyndham has a three-tier award chart, where hotels cost 7,500, 15,000, or 30,000 points per night. And with the Wyndham Earner Plus Card, you get a 10% discount on all go free redemptions, meaning a free night could cost as few as 6,750 points.

Wyndham go fast stays
Wyndham go fast is essentially a cash-plus-points stay. You'll pay a small points copay (often around 3,000 Wyndham Rewards points) and a cash amount for each night. You'll want to run the numbers on the particular hotel you're looking to book, but this typically doesn't provide great value for your points.
Vacasa vacation rentals
One of the best uses of Wyndham Rewards points is using them to book Vacasa vacation rentals. Up until early 2024, you could book nearly all Vacasa vacation rentals for only 15,000 points per bedroom per night. However, in early 2024, Wyndham and Vacasa raised the price for some vacation rentals to 30,000 points per bedroom per night if the average cost is above $250 per night. Still, you can get upwards of 2–3 cents per point in value for your Wyndham Rewards points. That's well above the average redemption value for Wyndham Rewards points.

Gift cards, merchandise, and other redemption options
A last resort option for redeeming Wyndham points is for gift cards, experiences, merchandise, point transfers, or even an AARP membership. Generally, you'll get poor value from your points on redemptions by redeeming points this way.

Application Restrictions
As a Barclays-issued product, the Wyndham Earner Plus Card is subject to the bank's credit card application restrictions. Anecdotally, Barclays takes into account the total number of cards that you have open as well as how frequently you have applied for cards.
You also may not receive the bonus on this card if you currently have or have had the card. From the offer terms:
“These bonuses and/or incentives are intended for applicants who are not and have not previously been Wyndham Rewards Earner® Plus cardmembers. You understand and agree that you may no longer be eligible for any bonuses and/or incentives in connection with a new Wyndham Rewards Earner® Plus Card Account after this Card Account is opened. If you receive a bonus or incentive for which you are not eligible due to your status as a current or former Wyndham Rewards Earner® Plus cardmember, we may revoke the bonus or incentive, or reduce your Points by the amount of the bonus or incentive or charge your Card Account for the fair value of the bonus or incentive, at our sole discretion.”

Bottom Line
If you're interested in staying at Wyndham or Vacasa properties, the Wyndham Earner Plus Card is a valuable wallet addition that can make each stay more rewarding. Access to a hefty welcome offer gives you a starting stash of Wyndham Rewards points that you can use for award bookings. Plus, you'll get access to the 10% award discount and anniversary points each year, which may take the sting out of the card's annual fee.
