American Express just revamped its lounge presence at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL).
On December 31, 2025, the issuer quietly closed its international Centurion Lounge® at IGIA (which AwardWallet was the first to catch), then shortly thereafter announced plans to move from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1 and open an all-new space.
And the issuer worked quickly to bring the new space to life. On March 31, 2026, the new location was added to Amex’s “Centurion Network” website, which means this new location is now open to eligible Card Members.
Here’s a peek inside the new Centurion Lounge DEL, along with details on its hours and access policies.
Amex Opens New Centurion Lounge at Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL)
The new Amex Centurion Lounge DEL is officially open. And from the looks of it, it’ll never close.
This new lounge — located in Indira Gandhi International Airport’s Terminal 1 (the airport’s domestic terminal) on Level 4 near Gate 2 and the Security Hold Area — is open 24 hours a day.
There’s rarely a lull in flights at DEL at any hour, so these hours make a lot of sense. That said, getting between terminals at DEL isn’t the easiest process, so if you’re flying out of a terminal other than T1, this might not be a lounge you can access with ease.

But if you’re able to pay a visit to the new IGIA Centurion Lounge, Amex noted in its press release that Card Members can expect a contemporary design that celebrates “the richness of Indian artistry,” including a custom installation using Batik techniques, dedicated work areas, and zones for rest and relaxation.

The lounge also offers an area exclusively for those with the Centurion® Card from American Express, though details are slim on what this space looks like or what amenities these Card Members will have access to.
The release also notes that the lounge offers “elevated dining and amenities,” including a buffet with rotating offerings, a full-service bar with premium wines and spirits, to-go options, and more.

International Centurion Lounges differ slightly from U.S. domestic Centurion Lounges, though you should find plenty of similarities in the experience both at home and abroad.

Amex Centurion Lounge DEL Access Policies
The Amex Centurion Lounge DEL is open not just to eligible American Express Card Members from India, but also to Card Members from around the world.
That means if you have the American Express Platinum Card®, The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, or the Amex Centurion Card and are transiting through IGIA, you can access the new Centurion Lounge.
However, it’s worth noting that guest policies at this international Centurion Lounge differ from most other Centurion Lounges:
- Platinum Card® and Business Platinum Card: Card Members are entitled to one complimentary guest, plus children under 12.
- Amex Centurion Card: Card Members are entitled to two complimentary guests, plus children under 12.
As such, the general requirement that Platinum Card® Members need to spend $75,000 to unlock complimentary guest access does not apply at this location.

Bottom Line
There’s a brand-new Centurion Lounge at New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) — and it’s not in Terminal 3 like the airport’s previous Amex lounge. Instead, this all-new space is located in Terminal 1 and, like the airport itself, is open to eligible Card Members 24/7.
If you pass through IGIA and pay the new lounge a visit, be sure to let us know what your experience was like in the comments below.
