Virgin Hotels are pretty sweet, but so are the rewards you can earn on your stays.
Virgin Red lets you earn points on stays at participating Virgin Hotels in the United States and the United Kingdom. The earning rates are fairly generous and can help you top off your balance with every booking. Stays in the U.S. earn 5X points per dollar spent, while stays in the U.K. earn 7X points per pound spent.
Here's everything you need to know, plus a few tips to help you build your balance even faster.
First Things First: Join “The Know”
Before you can start earning Virgin points on your hotel stays, you'll need to link your The Know account to your Virgin Red account. If you don't have one yet, click here to sign up for free.
The Know is Virgin Hotels' loyalty program, much like Virgin Atlantic Flying Club is the airline's loyalty program. Meanwhile, Virgin Red is the Virgin Group's umbrella rewards program that lets you connect loyalty accounts across participating Virgin brands.

Overview of Earning Virgin Points at Virgin Hotels
Stays at participating U.S. properties earn 5X points per dollar spent, while stays at participating U.K. properties earn 7X points per pound sterling spent. However, there are a few terms and conditions to keep in mind:
- You must be enrolled in both The Know and Virgin Red and link your accounts before your stay to earn points.
- Points are only awarded on the nightly room rate and do not apply to taxes, fees, food, drinks, or other incidental charges.
- Stays must be booked directly with Virgin Hotels or through a travel advisor. Reservations made through online travel agencies and other third-party booking channels are not eligible.
- Points can take up to 30 days after your stay to post to your account.
Which Virgin Hotels Are Eligible for Earning Points?
You can earn Virgin Red points at all seven currently operating Virgin Hotels:
- United States
- Dallas
- Las Vegas
- Nashville
- New Orleans
- New York City
- United Kingdom
- Edinburgh
- London-Shoreditch
While you can earn points at all seven properties, one notable exception exists on the redemption side: you currently can't redeem Virgin points for stays at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.

Virgin Hotels also has properties planned for Atlanta and Denver that are slated to open in 2027. As of this writing, there's no word on whether these hotels will participate in Virgin Red earning or redemptions.
Beyond Virgin Hotels, you can also earn Virgin points on stays at participating properties within Virgin Limited Edition, a collection of unique luxury hotels around the world. The only exceptions are stays at The Branson Beach Estate and winter-season stays at The Lodge, which are not eligible to earn points.
Other Ways to Earn More Virgin Points
Beyond hotel stays, there are dozens of ways to earn more Virgin points. You can earn points by flying Virgin Atlantic, taking a Virgin Voyages cruise, buying points outright, and much more. You can also transfer points from several rewards programs to Virgin Atlantic or Virgin Red.
As the list below shows, Virgin has a massive roster of transfer partners.
