Another month, another new Vacations by Marriott promotion! Through August 31, 2026, Marriott Bonvoy® members can earn 20,000 bonus points when booking an eligible vacation package that includes a stay of three or more nights at participating Marriott properties in California or New York.
Based on recent Marriott redemptions by AwardWallet users, this bonus is worth roughly $185. So, if you haven't tried out Vacations by Marriott yet, now might be a good time to give it a closer look.
What Is Vacations by Marriott?
Vacations by Marriott is an Expedia-powered platform to book vacation packages with flights and stays at Marriott properties. Rolling all your trip elements into one saves you the time of booking hotels and flights separately. Plus, you'll earn Marriott points on your entire package.
Many airlines and hotel chains offer vacation package booking platforms, such as Alaska Vacations, Delta Vacations, Southwest Vacations, and Hilton Getaways. These platforms are relatively similar, allowing you to save time by booking an entire vacation package, including flights, accommodations, car rentals, activities, and more.
Whether you book a vacation package through one of these platforms is an individual decision. Regardless of your choice, ensure you use the best travel rewards card to maximize your rewards on your spending.
Earn 20k Bonus Points on 3+ Night Packages in California or New York
The August Vacations by Marriott promotion offers 20,000 bonus points on stays of three nights or more at participating properties in California or New York. Packages must be booked by August 31, 2026, and the travel window runs from August 1 through March 31, 2027.
Registration isn’t required, but you’ll need to be a Marriott Bonvoy member to earn the bonus points. Thankfully, the program is free to join.
There’s also no minimum spending requirement to take advantage of this offer. All you have to do is book an eligible stay at a participating property, and you’ll earn the bonus points within 1-2 weeks after checkout.
Example booking
Eligible packages can be booked at any Marriott property participating in Vacations by Marriott. It covers properties in California or New York, so there are lots of options. Packages must include at least three nights and airfare, while car rentals and excursions are optional.
For example, you could snag a three-night stay for two in San Francisco at the Palace Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel, San Francisco, for as little as $721 per traveler, including round-trip flights from Denver. This booking would earn 20,000 bonus points — worth roughly $185 in rewards — on top of the base points you’d already earn.
When browsing featured packages for this promotion, you’ll notice that many include stays of fewer than three nights. These won’t qualify for the bonus. Only vacation packages with stays of three or more nights are eligible to earn the 20,000 bonus points.
Promotion terms and conditions
- Book your package between August 1 and August 31, 2026.
- Travel between August 1 and March 31, 2026.

The June Vacations by Marriott promotion offered 20,000 bonus points on vacation packages of five nights or more at participating properties worldwide. Bookings were required by June 30, 2026, for travel through December 31, 2026.
Earn 25k bonus points on 4+ night packages in the Caribbean, Latin America, and Mexico
The May 2026 Vacations by Marriott promotion afforded 25,000 bonus points on eligible 4+ night vacation packages in the Caribbean, Latin America, and Mexico. To earn these bonus points, you needed to book a package by May 31 and complete your travels by November 30, 2026.
Earn 25k bonus points on 4+ night Hawaii or Florida packages
The April 2026 Vacations by Marriott promotion offered 25,000 bonus points on vacation packages in Hawaii or Florida of four nights or more. To earn these bonus points, you needed to book an eligible package by April 30 and complete your travels by October 31, 2026.
Earn 25k bonus points on 4+ night vacation packages worldwide
The February 2026 Vacations by Marriott promotion offered 25,000 bonus points on all-inclusive resort stays of four nights or more. Packages needed to include flights and be booked by February 28, 2026. The travel window runs through September 30, 2026.
Stack Earnings With Credit Cards
Want to earn as much as possible on your next vacation? You might think you should pull out your Marriott Bonvoy credit card to complete the booking. However, Vacations by Marriott Bonvoy is technically considered a third party. That means your purchase will likely be coded on your credit card as a general travel purchase, which won't trigger the Marriott bonus-earning category on your card.
That said, each of the Marriott cards that charges an annual fee earns 2X Bonvoy points on all non-bonus category spending, so these cards wouldn't necessarily be a bad choice. However, here are a few options that earn slightly more on general travel:
- American Express® Green Card: Earn 3X Membership Rewards points on travel including airfare, hotels, cruises, tours, car rentals, campgrounds, and vacation rentals.
- Wells Fargo Autograph Journey℠ Card (Rates & Fees): Earn 3X points per $1 spent on other travel.

Vacations by Marriott continues to launch one rewarding promotion after another. The current offer awards 20,000 bonus points on stays at participating properties when booking packages of three or more nights.
These packages are pretty lucrative offers if you prefer to bundle all your trip elements into one. If you don't prefer to travel that way, no worries; you can also check out other current Marriott promotions to see if any appeal to you more.
In recent AwardWallet user redemptions, Marriott Bonvoy points provided an average value of 0.93¢ each. At this rate, you're essentially getting roughly $185 worth of bonus points back on your Marriott vacation packages. That's in addition to any other savings from booking a hotel and air package or bonus points using a credit card.
While we always prefer to redeem points and miles for trips, this promotion can earn you a solid amount of bonus Marriott points if you plan to book a paid trip by August 31, 2026, and travel by March 31, 2027.
