On April 1, 2026, Singapore Airlines is increasing the transfer ratio for transfers to Marriott Bonvoy by 50%. Elevated transfer ratios are always a good thing, but we generally don't recommend converting KrisFlyer miles to Marriott Bonvoy points. More often than not, you end up devaluing your miles in the process.

Here's what you need to know about the updated transfer ratio.

Updated Singapore Airlines to Marriott Bonvoy Transfer Ratio

Marriott Bonvoy and Singapore Airlines members have enjoyed a lucrative partnership for several years. Members of either program can request a status match to the other program and enjoy two-way point transfers. While the transfer ratio from Marriott to Singapore is Marriott's classic 3:1 (with a 5,000-point bonus for every 60,000 points transferred), transfers from Singapore to Marriott were a subpar 2:1 ratio.

However, that's about to change. Starting April 1, 2026, you can enjoy a new transfer ratio. For every 4 KrisFlyer miles you convert, you'll receive 3 Marriott Bonvoy points. This ratio is 50% higher than before, which can lead to a significant difference when you're making large transfers.

There's still a minimum of 3,000 KrisFlyer miles required for a transfer, but the annual maximum is increasing from 180,000 to 250,000 miles. That means you can theoretically receive up to 187,500 Marriott Bonvoy points from Singapore Airlines each calendar year.

Should You Transfer KrisFlyer Miles to Marriott Bonvoy?

According to recent data, AwardWallet users typically redeem Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer miles for 2.47¢ apiece. In other words, 10,000 KrisFlyer miles are worth roughly $247.

In contrast, AwardWallet users redeem Marriott Bonvoy points for 0.93¢ apiece on average. At the new ratio, if you transferred 10,000 KrisFlyer miles, you'd receive 7,500 Bonvoy points. On average, these points would be worth about $70.

At face value, it still doesn't make much sense to trade $247 in airline miles to get $70 in hotel points. However, if your KrisFlyer miles are about to expire, transferring them to Marriott Bonvoy helps you retain some of their value. Or, if you need a few thousand points to book a high-value hotel stay, it could make sense to transfer miles from Singapore Airlines.

Keep in mind that if you need a few extra Marriott Bonvoy points, converting from Singapore Airlines isn't your only option. The terms and conditions say that transfers between these programs can take up to eight weeks, so this isn't ideal for last-minute redemptions. Plus, Marriott partners with several different programs at various ratios, including:

Bottom Line

Effective April 1, 2026, mile transfers from Singapore Airlines to Marriott Bonvoy will receive a 50% bump in value. However, that doesn't mean that you should immediately move your entire KrisFlyer balance to Marriott Bonvoy. In general, you'll get far better value from your miles by keeping them in your Singapore Airlines account than by redeeming them for a hotel stay.

That said, if you're desperate for a few Bonvoy points ahead of an upcoming redemption or your KrisFlyer miles are about to expire, this option is much more attractive than it used to be.
