While you may know that you can earn points by using your credit cards at restaurants, one of the often overlooked ways to earn extra points is to sign up for an airline dining program. The points earned go above and beyond anything that you'll earn from any credit card spend, and it's easy to set it and forget it.
Now that Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines have merged and share the Atmos Rewards loyalty program, both airlines now also share the Atmos Dining Program. Let's show you how this program works.

How to Sign Up for the Alaska Atmos Dining Program
Registering for the Atmos Dining Program is very simple (and free). To get started, head over to the Atmos Rewards Dining website and enter your Atmos Rewards number along with other personal information like your full name, your zip code and email address. You will need to create a password so you can log back in after registering for the program.
After you finish signing up for the program, you will need to link debit or credit cards to your dining program account so that the dining program can track your dining activity at participating restaurants and you can earn your bonus points.

How Does the Atmos Rewards Dining Program Work?
After registering, every time you use any of your linked cards to pay at participating restaurants, you will earn bonus points. You can see what restaurants are part of the dining program by searching your current location on the Atmos Rewards Dining website.

How many points you earn depends on your membership level rather than restaurant you're dining at.
Basic members earn 1 Atmos Rewards point per $1 spent at restaurants that are part of the program. Basic members are those who register for the program but opt out of promotional emails from Atmos Rewards Dining.
Select members earn 3 Atmos Rewards per $1 spend at participating restaurants. Members reach Select level by choosing to opt in for promotional emails from the dining program.
VIP members earn 5 Atmos Rewards per $1 spent at those participating restaurants. All it takes to reach this level is opting in for dining program promotional emails and complete 11 dining transactions in a calendar year. VIP members earn at more places than non-VIP members, as some restaurants are exclusive to this level.
Once you reach VIP status within the program, you will maintain that level until the end of the following year. There is no limit to the amount of points you can earn through the program.
If you were previously a member of Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan Dining Program or HawaiianMiles Buy & Fly, once you register for Atmos Dining, your previously linked cards should all transfer over into the new program.
Alaska Atmos Rewards Dining Bonuses
There are currently two ways to earn additional Atmos Rewards points with the dining program beyond your spend at participating restaurants.
New member bonus
New members have the chance to earn 500 bonus points after registering and spending $30 within the first 30 days of joining the Atmos Rewards Dining program. All you need to do is complete an online review of the restaurant where you had dinner. This is a one-time offer; once you take advantage of it, it can not be leveraged again.
You must opt in to promotional emails to qualify for this bonus.

Reservation bonus
Members who book restaurant reservations through the Atmos Dining Program can earn an additional 50 points per reservation. While this isn't a huge amount of extra points, you can earn this bonus multiple times, with some restrictions. You can earn this bonus on up to one reservation per day, up to eight times per calendar month. That's an extra 400 Atmos Rewards points each month.
Not every restaurant takes reservations, so whether you're able to max out this bonus depends on the city you're looking to dine at, and whether the restaurants offer the ability to book reservations.

Earning Status Points With Atmos Dining
For every 3,000 points you earn with the Atmos Dining Program, you will earn 1,000 status points towards qualifying for Atmos Rewards elite status. The same is true for points you earn with the Atmos Shopping Portal when making online purchases at thousands of retailers.
Double Dipping With Alaska Atmos Dining Program
While you might think the natural cards to link to your Alaska Atmos Dining Program account would be those Alaska Airlines cobranded credit cards like the Atmos™ Rewards Summit Visa Infinite® Card or the Atmos™ Rewards Ascent Visa Signature® card (and you most certainly can and should), there are many other cards that offer bonus points for dining. Linking those cards would be an even better idea as they will help you rack up points much faster.
If you'd like to keep your points earning within the Atmos Rewards ecosystem, you can choose to link cards like the The Bilt Mastercard® (no longer open to new applicants) which lets you earn 3 points per $1 spent dining, and then transfer them from your Bilt Rewards account into Atmos Rewards at a one-to-one ratio.
Linking the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card or the Marriott Bonvoy Bevy® American Express® Card can also be a great idea. Both cards bonus dining and restaurant purchases. Then, you can transfer the points you earned within the Marriott Bonvoy program into Atmos Rewards at a three-to-one ratio.
Other cards to keep in mind, although they do not earn Atmos Rewards points, include American Express® Gold Card and Chase Sapphire Reserve®, which offer earning bonuses on the dining and restaurant category and let you earn points that can be transferred to an array of valuable programs.
