If you didn't know, you can use your Hilton Honors points to shop at Amazon. There are no limits on the transaction size, but the value is poor at best, and there are a million better ways to redeem your hard-earned points.
Here's everything you need to know about paying for your Amazon purchases with Hilton points and why you should avoid these redemptions.
How to Shop on Amazon Using Hilton Points
Setting up your Amazon account to pay with Hilton Honors points is simple:
- Link your Hilton Account to Amazon.
- Shop normally. Then, at checkout, select the “Pay with Hilton points” option.
- The exchange rate is 700 Hilton Honors points = $1 at the Amazon.com checkout (0.14 cents per point).
Which Amazon Purchases Are Eligible for Shop With Points?
Unfortunately, you cannot use your Hilton Honors points to pay for all your Amazon purchases. Several restrictions are in place that limit the number of eligible purchases. You cannot use Hilton points for any of the following purchases or one-click purchases:
- Amazon Kindle downloads
- Digital music
- Amazon video titles
- Amazon appstore apps
- Amazon Fresh items
- Subscribe and Save items
- Prime memberships — except Prime gift memberships
- Pre-order items
- Textbook rentals
- Amazon allowance
- Reload your gift card balance

How to Link Your Hilton Account to Amazon
Linking your Amazon and Hilton accounts is relatively straightforward. First, log in to your Amazon account and navigate to the Hilton linking page. Click “Link your rewards account.”
You will be able to see immediately if your accounts are linked. If not, click on “Enroll a new rewards account.”
You will now be redirected to the Hilton site, where you need to enter your credentials to log in and link your accounts. Once signed in to your account, you will see that your accounts are linked and ready to go. You'll see the value of your Hilton Honors points toward Amazon purchases, and you can also opt to apply your points by default. But just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
How Much are Hilton Points Worth on Amazon?
In a nutshell, Hilton points are not worth very much when applied toward Amazon purchases.
Through Shop with Points, you can exchange 700 points for $1 at checkout on Amazon. That is a whoppingly bad value of 0.14 cents per point. You need to exchange seven whole points for one cent of value, which is abysmal.
Consider that, AwardWallet users have been able to redeem their Hilton points for stays at an average value of 0.62¢ per point. Therefore, 700 points would be worth over $4, which you'd then exchange for $1 in value towards your Amazon purchases. That is not a good return by any stretch.

Our Take
While it's nice to know that you can redeem your Hilton Points for Amazon purchases, it is also good to know that it is not a good idea by any stretch of the imagination. The value doesn't even border on compelling.
In other words, you're better off redeeming your Hilton points towards free or deeply discounted hotel stays. And it's worth noting that you don't have to look too hard to find decent value in the Hilton Honors program — even if you just have a small sum of points.
