Bilt Adds Qatar Privilege Club as 21st Bilt Transfer Partner

Bilt Rewards is not letting their foot off the gas. Fresh off the addition of Japan Airlines as a transfer partner last week and adding Southwest as a transfer partner in late April, Bilt is inviting Qatar Airways into the fold. Effective today, May 22nd, Bilt members can transfer their Bilt Points to Qatar Airways Privilege Club Avios at a 1:1 transfer ratio.

Transferring Bilt Points to Qatar

Adding Qatar as a partner doesn't quite have the same shock factor as Japan Airlines did, and that is because Bilt already has Aer Lingus, British Airways, and Iberia as partners — all airlines that use the same Avios currency as Qatar.

Avios are unique because you can freely transfer them between different programs. So, Bilt members have already been able to transfer Bilt Points to Qatar in a roundabout way. But having this direct transfer now certainly doesn't hurt, especially if you need to book something quickly.

To transfer Bilt Points to Qatar Privilege Club, you'll need to link your accounts in the Bilt app. Then, you can transfer Bilt Points in 1,000-point increments.

Best Uses of Qatar Privilege Club Avios

Qatar may be best known for Qsuite, its fancy business-class product. That is just one of the ways you can use your Bilt Points to book awesome awards. You can book a Qsuite award to the Maldives for 85,000 Bilt Points each way — such as this example award from Chicago (ORD):

Or fly this 16-hour flight from Auckland (AKL) to Doha (DOH) — Qatar's home base — in Qsuite for only 70,000 Bilt Points. Qatar can be the perfect airline to consider when linking various destinations to the Middle East and then perhaps off to Europe or Asia.

Qatar Avios can be used for booking domestic American Airlines flights too, sometimes cheaper than American itself or partners such as Alaska Airlines or British Airways. This New York (JFK) to San Francisco (SFO) nonstop is only 16,000 Bilt Points when transferred to Qatar.

Bottom Line

Qatar Airways Privilege Club should definitely be a program to consider when flying to the Middle East or to book Oneworld partners. Although Bilt members already had a path to transfer miles to Qatar, this new, direct transfer ability is positive news. Deciding to transfer straight to Qatar versus through another Avios partner will be a decision worth comparing, but a famous Bilt Rent Day transfer bonus could be a great opportunity to stack up Qatar Avios to book that dream flight.
