To celebrate the 100th birthday of Route 66, Wyndham is offering a unique — and rather lucrative — promotion. Starting at 10:00 a.m. ET on August 20, 2026, you can shop a limited-edition candy collection: Flavors of the Open Road. We all love candy, but what makes this offer so interesting?

The candy collection, priced under $20, also includes 30,000 Wyndham Rewards points, effectively allowing you to buy points for 0.064¢ each. That's the lowest rate we've ever seen for buying Wyndham points. The catch? Only 100 of these limited-edition boxes are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so you'll need to act quickly.

With over 400 hotels along Route 66, it makes sense that Wyndham is celebrating the route's centennial. The box of candies is certainly creative, highlighting major landmarks and flavors associated with them. Here are the details of this offer.

Buy Candy, Get Wyndham Points for 0.064 Cents Apiece

In celebration of the centennial of Route 66, Wyndham is offering limited-edition candy collections. Each box includes six flavors inspired by memorable stops along the route:

  • Chicago, Illinois — Deep-Dish Pizza
  • Tulsa, Oklahoma — Pecan Pie
  • Amarillo, Texas — Smoked Brisket
  • Albuquerque, New Mexico — Roasted Green Chile
  • Flagstaff, Arizona — Prickly Pear Soft Serve
  • Kingman, Arizona — Root Beer Float

Yes, you read that right — deep-dish pizza, smoked brisket, and roasted green chile flavored candies. These days, flavors are getting more and more creative. Even if you aren't convinced that these will become your new favorite candies, it's always worth trying new things, especially when they're only available for a limited time.

The candy packages launch on August 20 at 10 a.m. ET. The cost of $19.26 (plus tax, including shipping) reflects the year that Route 66 opened. Only 100 collections are available on a first-come, first-served basis, limited to 1 per U.S. resident household. We imagine that these will sell out quickly, so be sure to log on to buy as early as you can.

Each package includes all six flavors inspired by iconic stops along Route 66, a Route 66 travel guide highlighting the destinations behind each flavor, and 30,000 Wyndham Rewards points. If you disregard the candy, you're buying Wyndham Rewards points for 0.064 cents each, and those points are enough for up to two free nights at Hotels by Wyndham properties.

Note that through August 14, Wyndham Rewards members can buy points with a 90% bonus, dropping the cost per point down to 0.68 cents each. As you can see, the candy promotion is substantially better — but it's limited to 30,000 points (one collection) per household.

Keep in mind that Wyndham points expire after 18 months of inactivity. If you are lucky enough to score one of these boxes, you'll need a plan for how you'll use your 30,000 points. Make sure to add Wyndham to your AwardWallet account so you can keep track of point expirations.

Final Thoughts

This is quite a peculiar opportunity to get 30,000 Wyndham Rewards points for 0.064 cents each, as well as a box of unique-flavored candies. Remember that only 100 are available, so if you're interested, mark your calendar for 10 a.m. ET on August 20, as the collections are on a first-come, first-served basis.

There's always a chance you won't grab one of the hundred collections, you need more than 30,000 points, or you just don't like candy. If any of those are the case, you can buy Wyndham Rewards points (sometimes with a bonus!) or earn points on your next Wyndham stay.
