Air Canada is back with another rebate promotion to use your Aeroplan points to book hotel stays or car rentals. Depending on how many points you redeem, you can get between 10,000 and 25,000 points back — plus a bonus if you have an Aeroplan-branded credit card.
To take advantage of the offer, you must register and book your hotel stay or car rental by April 13 and then complete your stay or rental by September 30, 2025.
Here's how to register, plus some insight on whether Aeroplan's rebate promotion is worth considering.

Book a Hotel Stay or Car Rental with Aeroplan Points and get Up to 30,000 Points Back
Air Canada Aeroplan is offering a rebate when you book hotel stays or car rentals with Aeroplan points. Aeroplan members can register for this promotion by April 13 to earn up to 30,000 points back when redeeming points for stays and rentals completed by September 30, 2025.
Your rebate will depend on how many points you redeemed for your booking. Here's a breakdown of how it works:
- Redeem 40,000 points or more, get 10,000 back.
- Redeem 100,000 points or more, get 25,000 back.
Aeroplan credit card holders of any type (e.g., Aeroplan® Credit Card) will receive an additional 5,000 Aeroplan points back on redemptions made through this promo.

If you only redeemed the minimum number of points at each threshold (40k or 100k points), you'll receive a 25% rebate. However, you will receive a worse return if you redeem more than the minimum. For instance, if you redeem 95,000 points, you will only receive 10,000 points back — a 10.5% rebate.

Should You Book a Hotel Stay or Car Rental with Aeroplan Points?
Booking anything other than flights with airline points generally presents poor value. However, Aeroplan addressed this with the launch of its HotelSavers program, which offers some sweet spots that provide a better return than using your points to book flights.
On average, AwardWallet members have leveraged Aeroplan points for a redemption value of 1.85¢ apiece. However, that average is buoyed by business and first-class redemptions. Meanwhile, economy Aeroplan redemptions aren't nearly as valuable — with long-haul economy redemptions only averaging 1.28¢ cents per point.

Simple math lets you determine the value you get from this Aeroplan points rebate promotion. Compare the cash price of your desired stay or rental to the points cost after the rebate. Then, you can determine how many cents per point of value you will generate.
If you are getting anywhere over 2 cents per point, that particular stay or rental is an excellent deal made better with the rebate offer. Combine this rebate offer with the fourth-night free benefit for cardholders, and you should easily get more than 2 cents per point redeemed on your stay or rental. However, even less-valuable redemptions can be worth it for those with lots of Aeroplan points.

Our Take
Aeroplan's annual point rebate promotion is back, and while this year's advertised 25% return is solid — especially because it now applies to car rentals — it doesn’t quite reach last year’s high watermark of up to 33% points back.
Maximizing value takes some effort, but if you have upcoming travel plans, it's worth crunching the numbers to see if this works in your favor. If the math doesn’t add up, you're likely better off holding onto your points for a high-value flight redemption.
