  • I know there’s something called “combined Household Accounts” – i just don’t know how to combine them? Any Ideas on how to do it?

  • Analise Sesay says:

What are people’s experiences with airberlin? I am headed to Germany with my friend this July for a festival in Bavaria. The flight prices on Lufthansa were a bit steep for that time when I looked yesterday.

  • I have enough miles to book a R/T Budapest-TXL-Budapest but the YQ charge was about the same as a revenue ticket.

I will wait a little longer!

  • Very high surcharges on Air Berlin when booked through Topbonus. Best to avoid and book using Avios…

  • Airberlin used to have (and perhaps still have) a credit card that you could earn not only redeemable award miles, but also miles towards oneworld status through expenditure. In theory I think you could have become oneworld sapphire or emerald without ever setting foot on a plane. I think it was only available in Germany though. I wish they would introduce it in other countries.

  • I wish Airberlin has more routes to the U.S.

  • Makes no sense! Awards look like real bargain on paper but when you factor in their laughable fuel surcharges you then begin to realize you can get a regular ticket on their website for that money.

  • Any idea how AirBerlin’s economy class compares to other Euro airlines (e.g. Lufthansa)?

  • AB is nice. Berlin to LA @ 15k is a sweet deal. Or DUS. I have no time to take the trip. Bummer. Best route is then to DUS then CAG. Hope people get to enjoy Octoberfest with this.

  • I have some miles with Air Berlin and I checked some of the flights on offer.
I have seen that in some case the fuel surcharge is quite high, but this is not always the case.
I’m sure it depends on the particular route but I have no clue when the fuel surcharge is high and when it is quite reasonable.

  • I have flown on AirBerlin previously and I was pleasantly surprised at the service. Reports are they seem to have financial difficulty. I hope they fly on!

  • it’s a shame that SPG points may not post in time. Also, their routes seem limited as their major cities are Berlin and dusseldorf

  • Dang, if I didn’t already have my next two trips planned I’d be all over that SFO -> DUS

  • Great! I fly on them for the first time soon (kinda nervous from the reviews) but willing to give them a shot.

  • Thanks for the post, is there any credit card program that has the ability to transfer points to AB?
