Who doesn't love a good birthday celebration? Better yet, who doesn't love bonus perks from airlines just because it's your birthday? It comes every year, so we might as well take advantage of all the benefits that can come with our birthdays.
Let's look at some of the fun options you have from different airlines.
AirBaltic
AirBaltic is a regional airline based in Latvia, flying to 70+ locations between the Baltics, Europe, and the Middle East. With its 22 partners, you can reach 300 additional destinations.
For your birthday, receive a 50% discount on airBaltic award flights listed in the airBaltic Rewards Shop. You can fly at any time, but discount applies only when you book the flight on your birthday.
Air Canada Aeroplan
Air Canada's Aeroplan offers birthday emails with four different awards to choose from. This email promo seems to be targeted to certain customers, but you should be included if your birthday is listed in your Aeroplan account.
You can sign up for a free Aeroplan account here, and the four options include:
- 25% off base fares for flights, plus preferred seating.
- 10% off Air Canada vacation packages.
- 500 Aeroplan points when you spend $50 in the Aeroplan eStore.
- 100 Aeroplan points.
You need to choose within one month of receiving the email. If you choose the first birthday perk, you must travel on Air Canda (not a partner airline) within six months of booking. It's worth mentioning that the preferred seating in this perk extends to five travel companions, subject to availability.
Avianca LifeMiles
Avianca is another airline that sends out birthday perk emails. In this case, it's a straightforward perk of bonus LifeMiles when you book a flight. You will earn 500 bonus miles for domestic flights and 1,000 miles for international flights. To get this perk, enter the promo code from your birthday email when it's time to pay.
Bangkok Airways FlyerBonus
There are two different birthday perks available from Bangkok Airways. First, you can earn 55 bonus points per flight during your birthday month. These are on top of the regular points you earn from flying with with the airline.
Second, you can earn 5.5x points when you fly on your birthday. 5.5x earnings are calculated using the base fare for your flight.
To earn either of these bonuses, you'll need to register for a FlyerBonus account and register for the birthday promo. It's important to note that only paid flights qualify for the birthday bonus points.
Malaysia Airlines Enrich
Malaysia Airlines offers a perk of 1,000 birthday points when you fly this airline within two months of your birthday. You can sign up for a free Enrich account here, and you'll earn the bonus points according to these rules:
- You must book the flight during your birthday month then fly during that month or the following month.
- During your birth month, you will receive an email and must use it to register for the promotion.
- Bonus points are earned only by flying with Malaysia Airlines.
- The points will be deposited to your Enrich account within 30 days of flying and will expire one year after receiving them.

Final Thoughts
Even if an airline doesn't offer birthday perks when booking, it's worth notifying a crew member if you're flying on your birthday. Airlines have been known to hand out special treats or perks to people who are celebrating.
In addition to what's available now, other airlines have previously offered benefits. Both British Airways and Delta had temporary birthday bonuses over the past few years, so it's worth signing up for free loyalty accounts with airlines you may fly. You never know what you might get!
