Who doesn't love a good birthday celebration? Better yet, who doesn't love bonus perks from airlines just because it's your birthday?
It comes every year, so we might as well take advantage of all the freebies that come with it. Let's look at some of the bonus miles and coupons you can get from different airlines on your birthday.

AirBaltic Club
AirBaltic is a Latvia-based regional airline that serves 80-plus locations between the Baltics, Europe, and the Middle East. Through its partner network, you can reach 300 additional destinations.
For your birthday, AirBaltic Club members receive a 50% discount on airBaltic award flights available in the airBaltic Rewards Shop. You can travel at any time, but you must book the discounted award flight on your actual birthday for the offer to apply.

Air Canada Aeroplan
Air Canada's Aeroplan sends birthday emails with several awards to choose from. However, this email promo seems to be targeted. Even if your birthday is listed in your Aeroplan account, there's no guarantee you'll receive an email.
You can sign up for a free Aeroplan account. Past birthday offers have included:
- 25% off base fares on Air Canada flights, plus preferred seating for up to five passengers (travel must be completed within six months of booking)
- 5X on your next Uber ride
- 10% off Air Canada vacation packages
- 500 Aeroplan points when you spend $50 in the Aeroplan eStore
- 100 Aeroplan points
You have one month to select your perk after receiving your birthday promo email.

Avianca LifeMiles
Avianca offers one of the more valuable birthday perks on this list. LifeMiles members can receive a discount voucher valid for flight bookings made within 14 days after their birthday. The specific discount depends on the route:
- Domestic routes in Colombia: Up to COP 20,000 round-trip fares
- Domestic routes in Ecuador and Guatemala: $10 off round-trip fares
- Europe and the U.K.: €40/£40 off round-trip fares
- All other international routes: $20 off round-trip fares

Bangkok Airways FlyerBonus
Bangkok Airways FlyerBonus might not be a popular loyalty program for those outside of Thailand, but it's still worth joining. Once you register for the birthday promo, you can earn double bonus points on paid flights only taken during your birthday month.

China Airlines Dynasty Flyer
China Airlines is a member of the SkyTeam Alliance and operates flights to over 100 destinations worldwide. With this program, you must be an elite member to receive any birthday rewards.
China Airlines Gold, Emerald, and Paragon members receive bonus points on their birthday. Gold members receive 2,000 miles, Emerald members receive 5,000 miles, and Paragon members receive 10,000 miles.

Emirates Skywards
While Emirates Skywards doesn't offer members a flight discount on their birthday, you can enjoy up to 20% off exclusive event tickets and experiences with Skywards Exclusives. Eligible events will have a birthday ribbon when you redeem your miles.

Lufthansa Miles & More
Lufthansa's birthday surprise is two-fold: you'll receive 50 bonus miles in your account, along with a 20% discount when you shop at Worldshop.
Make sure you click the link in your email, as your bonus miles are only valid if you visit your dedicated birthday page within seven days of your birthday. However, the coupon for Worldshop purchases is valid for much longer. In this case, my coupon was valid until the end of the next calendar year after my birthday.

Qatar Airways Privilege Club
If your birthday present to yourself is a luxurious flight, you're in luck. Qatar Airways offers members a coupon for 10% off on their birthday. The coupon is valid on economy-, business-, and first-class flights. Although it's a single-use code, you can book as many passengers on the same reservation as you'd like. You can use the code until 90 days after your birthday, and it is eligible for travel within one year of receiving the code.

Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
You can earn up to 2,000 bonus miles when you fly with Singapore Airlines within three months of your birthday, and this perk requires nothing more than having a KrisFlyer account. When you sign up, you'll automatically earn birthday bonus miles as follows:
- You must take a flight with either Singapore Airlines or Scoot within three months of your birthday.
- Only paid flights qualify.
- The number of miles you earn depends on your membership tier:
- 1,000 bonus miles for KrisFlyer members
- 1,500 bonus miles for KrisFlyer Elite Silver and Elite Gold members
- 2,000 bonus miles for PPS Club members

Southwest Rapid Rewards
Southwest Airlines gives Rapid Rewards members a promo code for a flight and hotel vacation package of three or more nights booked through Southwest Vacations. In this case, you could get $50 off your vacation package booked during your birthday month for travel through the end of the year.

Final Thoughts
Even if an airline doesn't offer birthday freebies when booking, it's worth notifying a crew member if you're flying on your birthday. Airlines have been known to hand out special treats or perks to people who are celebrating.
In addition to the birthday freebies available now, other airlines have previously offered benefits. Both British Airways and Delta had temporary birthday bonuses over the past few years, so it's worth signing up for free loyalty accounts with airlines you may fly. You never know what you might get!
