One way to earn miles or points for free is by taking surveys through loyalty programs. It's a great way to generate activity to extend the expiration of your points. But, many of these offers require a lot of time for little payoff. So, we typically don't share these offers.

However, Hilton is currently offering an impressive 10,000-point bonus for signing up for and completing your first survey through Guest Option Rewards. That's much better than the typical offer of just 1,250 bonus points.

10,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points Promotion

Guest Opinion Rewards is a survey company that has partnered up with Hilton Honors to offer rewards points for completing surveys. If you're not already a member, you can sign up to get 10,000 Hilton Honors bonus points after you complete your first survey within 3 months of enrolling.

Free nights at Hilton start at just 5,000 points per night. So, just by signing up for Guest Opinion Rewards and completing a survey, you can possibly get two free nights at a Hilton property. Hotels in the U.S. generally start at 10,000 points. Still, you can save around $100 by using the 10,000 bonus points for a free night.

Use your 10,000-point bonus to save on a Hilton stay

After your initial bonus points, you will get additional bonus points after each survey you complete. The number of points that you can earn will vary widely.

Bonus points will be rewarded to your Hilton Honors account within 4-6 weeks of completing each survey.

Overview of the Guest Option Rewards Program

  • Guest Option Rewards will send emails inviting you to take a survey and get reward points.
  • If you don't want to wait for the emails, you can log into your dashboard to see what surveys are available.
  • Surveys vary in length but typically take about 5-20 minutes to complete. The number of Hilton Honors bonus points you earn also vary depending on the survey you take.
  • In the event that you are not qualified for a survey or the quota is full, you will still receive a nominal amount of bonus points (5 or 10) for your interest in taking the survey.
  • You must be a member of Hilton Honors Rewards to join Guest Option Rewards.
  • The program is only available to U.S. members.

Our Take

It's not every day that you can get 10,000 Hilton Honors bonus points just for completing a survey. The rest of the points you get from completing surveys with Guest Option Rewards don't really seem worth the time, but that's up to you to decide. I've also had difficulty with qualifying for surveys with similar programs in the past.

Signing up with Guest Option Rewards for your bonus points and completing surveys are just a couple of ways to get Hilton Honors Bonus Points. If you're not already a Hilton Honors member, consider signing up today. Don't forget you can also get bonus Hilton points by spending on or getting a new Hilton Honors credit card.

Is this promotion only open to US citizens? I can’t register as I don’t have a zip code…

  • I love it and I just wanted to say thank you

  • Yes i need.to.sign up

  • SamuelByrd says:

Yes I’m going to sign up

  • Yes I’m going to sign up!

  • We stayed at the Double Tree Hilton in Chandler Arizona last week. We have stayed there each as we come in town for the Barrett Jackson Auto Auction. The hotel staff are great. Hunter and Tyna go out of there way to make sure everything is great. Which it was.

  • Candy Blsnche says:

Link to Survey only offers 1,250 points not 10,000 points. Please share the link to 10,000 points

    • As we note at the top of the post “Update: This bonus Hilton points promotion has been reduced to 1,250 bonus points. That’s not bad, but it may be worth holding out for a bigger bonus.”

Don’t worry, we will update and reshare this post if the 10k bonus returns!

  • Johan Delport says:

    Please sign me up

  • Bradley Henley says:

Hello my name is Bradley. I would like to take the survey as provided if you could please contact me back at this email address it would be very much appreciated.

  • Promo downgraded to 1250 pts as of 18 October 2021.

  • Barbara L Charlton says:

There seems to be a problem with my account. I no longer qualify for any surveys. How will this be fixed?

  • Michael Hughes says:

Oh, forgot to add, in addition to the 1250 points for signing up and the 10 points for the survey, I got an additional 10 miles posted to my AA account. Totally unexpected. However, I did sign up for the AA promo over a year ago.

  • Michael Hughes says:

The 10,000 point bonus wasn’t there. I got 1250 points instead and 10 HH points for first survey. disappointed.

  • Maurice Stander says:

    Worth a try.

  • I just signed up for this today and the promo still works. I partially completed one survey and I see the 10,000 points in the survey site. However, the amount of questions are just not worth the small amount of points they offer.

  • Dean Haynes says:

It’s a pity that it seems this survey, along with so many other bonuses, including huge sign-up credit card airmile bonuses just aren’t available to people resident in countries outside the US even though the brands are well known to us all around the globe.

  • Scott D Schulman says:

I’ve also found that the Hilton Honors points are much easier to use than other hotel rewards. Hilton makes it easy and flexible. I figure the 10,000 free points will go halfway or a third of the way toward a one night stay.

  • Reg Hargrave says:

Looks like it’s worth a go!

  • …sounds great. Willing to give it a try!

  • I can’t believe this is for real. I’m going to go for it.

  • I just completed my survey for the points. It took 32 minutes total. Not sure it was worth the time, but at least its done now!

  • Don Scales says:

    Nice if works out..

  • I assume this is only for those who didn’t sign up and do a survey last time?

    • Yes, unfortunately, it’s an offer only for new members doing their first survey. But, that’s to be expected at this point offering.

  • Janice Augustine says:

    Gotta love Hilton!

  • It’s an easy 10K points, you don’t have to spend more than 5-10 minutes on a survey. Find the ones with the shortest time. You may not qualify at first, but there will be plenty of other surveys to try.

  • I’ll give this a try to see if I can qualify. 10,000 points is worthwhile. I find a lot of other survey sites Play games and you will often get through the survey but then somehow, ā€œnot qualifyā€.

For those concerned with malware, I use an old laptop, that I would have gotten rid of anyway for all my survey point earning Activities.

That way, if it were to become infected, it’s on a computer that I was going to discard anyway.
Not a perfect solution, but better than using my primary laptop.

  • I can’t think of anything that divides opinion more than surveys.

Some people love the free miles/points in exchange for some of their free time. Others think it’s an ROI on your time lower than you’d earn at McDonalds…

  • I signed up and got 10,010 points by partially completing a survey (I didn’t fit the target demographic for that particular survey, so I only got the consolation prize). This was an excellent promo, and I hope that I don’t run into the same issues that other Walleteers are reporting in the comments below.

    • Update: The 10,000 point bonus posted on 30 March, while the points earning from surveys themselves posted within a week. Not bad for a few minutes worth of work.

  • Great deal! I think the surveys are picky qualifiers though

  • I think I signed up for this but never got it to work. Is it like the dining portals where you register a credit card; and you can’t sign up for more than one airline because it’s all run by the same company. I have an AA survey account so I wonder if that’s why.

  • Manuel Silva says:

Great offer, but this program is only available to U.S. members. Happy holidays..

  • Just a followup – I received the points for the survey in my Hilton Honors account. My husband and Mom did NOT receive the points for theirs. I haven’t had the time to try to email an inquiry or check why but I’m still tickled that I got mine!

  • Love this promo! I did it, hubby and Mom as well. What a deal! Wish other surveys were so many points, I’d take a lot more of them. Pretty much I have stopped doing “free” surveys for companies, if McD’s and Popeyes and other restaurant chains can give you a free dinner for doing a survey, then so can other places where you spend a LOT more money…like Macy’s or Amazon or whoever. I called in to a business yesterday bc I had login issues…it took a little time to get account right, then she asks if she can transfer me for a survey, I said absolutely NOT! I started to ask how much does it pay or how much of a discount do I receive for doing the survey but just said not. I am on some of the other survey companies as a good way to extend points if I don’t have a cc with them, like Wyndham. Do a survey every so often to maintain those points.

  • pretty solid deal actually, i’m running low on hilton points so i’ll probably give it a go!

  • YMMV. Just be aware that myself and others (reporting) completed this initial survey, received the email stating the 10k award miles have been awarded, and then never posted. It’s been months and have written to guest option rewards multiple times with no response.

  • I previously tried using it in the past, but the reward is low for the amount of time needed per survey

  • Thanks for this. Happy holidays for me as a result.

    • I just finished mine, and I hope the concern with the malware site isn’t true. I double check on my browser, along with VPN and active malware scan running. Usually sites that are of malware sites, my browsers won’t even let me go to it since I have it set fairly securely.
Time will show if it is a scam. I hope not. Now on my that site, once I log on, it does shows me my Silver status on the site for doing survey, and it’s showing 10450, to be transferred within 4-6 weeks. Fingers cross. Meanwhile change Hilton site PW and double check info given to site

      • Very mixed on this promo. I received the initial 10k with no problem. Then I started doing surveys with no issue and racking up point. I got involved in some higher point surveys which are like focus groups. I was awarded 13k and only 8k transferred over to my Hilton Honors account. I’ve been emailing with their customer service for over a month now and they just keep saying all the points were transferred without offering any proof or documentation. I’m on the verge of writing to Hilton corporate to complain about this.

  • Sadly.. bombarded by a bunch of surveys… šŸ™

  • Tried it again with my husband’s Hilton Number – I still see no HIlton Banner – only a ton of surveys that do take forever, but no Hilton points.

  • I did this awhile back and had the same concerns that many folks have mentioned, but the points did post eventually. Easy win. Don’t give up or skip. Happy Holidays. šŸ™‚

    • Turns out I was mistaken. I only looked at my Guest Rewards account, which said that the bonus points had been awarded. Later I noticed that they still have not appeared in my Hilton account. First contact with Guest Rewards did not yield much success. They said something about ensuring that the account information I had provided was accurate. I have been receiving points for individual surveys, so clearly they have the right information for me. Beware.

      • Finally received the points in my Hilton account, but it took a lot of chasing to get them. Good luck to anyone else who took the plunge.

  • Completed my first survey, got an email immediately about 10,000 points being awarded, and the points landed in my Hilton account a few days later. Thanks for the heads up, AwardWallet team!

    • Glad to help! Thanks for reporting back on your success šŸ™‚

    • Bill from Maine says:

I just signed my son up on his HH account, did a survey which abruptly ended with the have reached the limit message. Fortunately for him, he received an email a few minutes later saying that he will receive 10,000 HH bonus points and like George says here, posted to his account 2 days later. It does work.

  • In other such programs, I seem to never qualify for surveys. Maybe this time it will be different šŸ™‚

  • I signed up for an account and completed my progile, but it says, “No surveys available.”

  • Do they really think that they will actually recruit more dedicated market research survey respondents through this membership drive?

  • The service / brand is one of the numerous imprints of Dynata, LLC, a huge global consumer data aggregator firm. All sorts of rewards such as PayPal transfers, Amazon gift certificates, points, miles, etc., etc. are offered through its numerous consumer survey portals.

  • It all sounded so great until I read the last clause: “The program is only available to U.S. members.”

  • I tried this, went to the guest link and answered tons of questions and then nothing at all – no mention ever or Hilton….

    • Were you not prompted to enter your Hilton Honors number on the signup page? (https://www.guestopinionrewards.com/signup) On the signup page, I’m still seeing a big banner for earning Hilton points:

“Earn Hilton Honors Bonus Points Now
Make the most of your Hilton Honors membership with Guest Opinion Rewards, a new exclusive community for Hilton Honors members.
Receive Hilton Honors Bonus Points for EVERY survey you take, and we’ll automatically deposit them into your Hilton Honors account.
Earning Hilton Honors Bonus Points has never been easier!
Earn 10,000 Hilton Honors Bonus Points when you take your first survey!”

  • Signed up and spent about 20 – 30 minutes trying to complete a survey. Not only did the site seem to have issues, but the chances of actually completing a survey seem to be pretty small. Assuming the “partial” credit comes through, it was not a complete loss.

  • Just know what you’re going into, and expect to spend some time doing it. I think it is worth it.

  • Well, this is a hell of a deal. Especially if you can use it for two nights. I’m getting on it right now!

    • Same here. Big Data already knows more about me than I do, so I’m game to earn an easy 10,000 Hilton Honors bonus points that I can either use when I resume traveling or use toward a travel gift to someone else.

  • tried this weeks ago, when was also current, but without luck to receive 10000, received only 2000 or something.

  • Interesting that they’ve gone with a different survey provider! Definitely beneficial for us to get all the signup bonuses, LOL

  • It isn’t that easy it seems and seems a bit shady.

Tried several surveys in the last hour or so. All of them after making me answer several questions, result in the following:

    Thank you for your interest.
We have reached our target number of participants and the survey is now closed.

Then why bother asking me in the first place?

    • Hey Penn I ran into the same thing. It took me 3 surveys to get one where I got past the filter. I did succeed (took about 25 min) and I saw a 10K bonus pending in my history on the survey site.

  • My chances are slim, however, getting 10,000 points free is worth it.

  • The 10K perk is good.
I agree it’s not worth it for future surveys because to qualify they ask so many questions. Unfortunately, you will spend three minutes answering questions only to find out they already have surveyed enough people with your qualifications. So you don’t earn points and then they offer another survey. They get plenty of info about you though.

  • Bill from Maine says:

The wife and I both completed a survey and each Hilton account had 10,000 points posted the next day. The following days we have been deluged with 5-10 surveys per day. What I really don’t like about it is you could spill your guts out for 15 minutes on a 25 minute survey and than the next page that pops up tells you the survey has reached maximum capacity, so no points other than a small partial amount. It’s just not worth it.
We’re happy with the initial points and gave a couple of follow up surveys a try, but won’t be spending anymore time doing surveys.
