Capital One launched a 20% transfer bonus promotion to Accor Live. The promotion is valid for transfers through November 30, 2022. This is not the only Capital One promotion running during this time. In addition, you can also receive a 20% bonus when transferring your Capital One miles to British Airways Avios.

Accor Live Limitless Capital One transfer bonus

Key Terms

  • Receive a 20% bonus when you transfer Capital One miles to Accor points
  • The promotion is valid for transfers through December 1, 2022, 12:59 a.m. EDT. So, effectively November 30, 2022.
  • The bonus is hard-coded, and you receive 600 points for every 1,000 miles you transfer.

Using Accor Live Limitless (ALL) Points

Accor points have a fixed value, eliminating the possibility of arbitrage and sweet spots in their program. When redeeming your Accor points, you exchange 2,000 points for a €40 ($39.60 at the time of writing) discount on your bill. Consequently, this gives an Accor point a value of 1.97 cents per point at this time.

This fixed value does not allow for sweet spots. Plus, the cash value will change with exchange rates and currency fluctuations.

However, with a bit of creativity, you can use this transfer bonus to transfer your Capital One miles to other airline programs.

Transferring Accor Points to Airline Partners

Accor Live Limitless members have the option to convert Accor points to an airline partner. Then, you can redeem those miles for an award. However, doing so involves planning and calculation to ensure that you get a decent value for your points.

You need to take into account the value of Accor points and the transfer ratio. Thus, you can determine the minimum value you can leverage your miles for and whether the transfer makes sense.

For instance, many partners have a ratio of 2:1. Taking this into account, with a value of 1.97 cents per point, you would need to be able to leverage your points for over 3.94 cents per mile/point for the transfer to make sense.

Iberia Plus

The best value to be had is transferring Accor points to Iberia Plus at a ratio of 1:1. AwardWallet members have leveraged their Iberia Avios for an average of 5.2 cents of value for long-haul international awards in premium cabins. Opting to transfer your Accor points and using them for 5.2 cents of value would be a fantastic use of your points.

This is a great option to transfer your Accor points to Qatar, Aer Lingus, and British Airways at a 1:1 ratio. Since all f0ur carriers share the same currency (Avios,) you can transfer your Avios between accounts for free.

Other Airlines

You can transfer your Accor points to the following airlines. Just note that you'll want to leverage these miles for more than 4 cents per mile in order to make this transfer make sense.

Avianca Live Miles: AwardWallet members have leveraged them for 4.08 cents per mile for regional business and first-class awards.

Cathay Pacific Asia Miles: AwardWallet members have leveraged them for 4.37 cents per point for international long-haul business and first-class awards.

Accor ALL Points Expiration Policy

Your Accor points will expire if you have no earning activity on your account in 12 months. You can extend the validity of your points by 365 additional days by earning points through any earning method.

In the past, only Accor stays counted toward extending your points validity. However, that changed in 2021. Now, you are now able to keep your account from expiring by earning points in a variety of ways  — including transferring points from Capital One. That means a transfer of just 1,000 Capital One miles can save your Accor points from expiring for another 365 days.

Our Take

This offer is good, but nothing to write home about. If you're interested in transferring your miles to Accor, this Capital One transfer bonus came along at a timely manner.

However, AwardWallet users have leveraged their Capital One Miles for 2.36 cents per mile of value on average. That's because other Capital One transfer partners can provide a ton of value. Unless this transfer is your only option, you best leave this deal on the table.
