Choice Privileges just relaunched its promotion offering 60,000 bonus points and up to 40% off at AMResorts in select hotels in Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. That's enough points for a week of free nights at certain Choice hotels!

To qualify for this offer, your stay must be before December 22, 2021, and you must book before September 13, 2021.

AMResorts 60,000 Bonus Choice Points Promotion Details

There are four aspects to this Choice AMResorts promotion:

  1. Earn 60,000 bonus Choice Privileges points.
  2. Get up to 40% off your stay.
  3. Receive $200 in resort coupons.
  4. Unlimited dining and limitless top-shelf spirits.

This isn't the first time Choice has offered this kind of deal when staying at AMResorts. Just a few months ago, you could earn 50,000 bonus points plus $200 in resort coupons when staying at an AMResorts property.

But this promotion is even better. Instead of 50,000 points, you'll now earn 60,000 bonus points. Plus, you still get $200 in reward coupons. In addition, you'll also get up to 40% off your stay — as long as you spend at least $500 to qualify for the bonus.

Our Take

I'm personally not a big one for all-inclusive resorts, but that's probably just because I'm not a big drinker and I prefer to make my travel dollar stretch a bit further. That said, I can attest that the all-inclusive resorts in Cancun are quite busy right now. So, there should definitely be some readers ready and willing to take advantage of this offer.

To get the 60,000 bonus points, you will need to book a stay costing at least $500. But once you do, the rewards really start to add up. In addition to the bonus points and the $200 in resort coupons, you can also earn base points as a Choice Privilege member and credit card rewards (such as earning 3X points on the Chase Sapphire Reserve®).

If you're in a position to take advantage of this offer, you could rack up some serious bonus points.

  • First time hearing about AMResorts and seems their properties are quite nice.

  • Definitely an attempt to boost revenues before closing the 4Q2021 books. Too bad; I might consider this if if extended into next year, when I might feel more comfortable doing leissure travel to those areas.

  • Sebastian ER Morita says:

for what are the $200 resort coupons? SPA services, Extra activities, etc?

    • The answer is a mouthful From the offer terms:

“$200 resort coupons include four coupons worth $10 each, two coupons worth $20 each, and three coupons worth $40 each. Of these coupons, $100 can be used for spa treatment, $60 for romantic dining, and $40 for wine purchases. Spa treatment coupons are broken down into one coupon worth $20 and two coupons worth $40. Romantic dining coupons are broken down into one coupon worth $20 and one coupon worth $40. Coupons for wine purchases are broken down into four $10 coupons.”

Then, there are 3 other clarifying paragraphs after that…

  • The promotion probably aims to lure the regulars back soon.

  • When will the coupons be issued?

Can the coupons be redeemed during the stay?

  • I’m not a big fan of all-inclusive resorts but some of these are smaller than the ones I’ve visited in the past. It is certainly an option if this is something you might do anyway, Especially if you are working on gathering a big stash of Choice points to use on a future visit to Scandinavia.

  • I took advantage of an earlier promotion and spent three days at the Panama resort. It was a nice getaway during the pandemic. Mask usage and cleanliness were de rigeur and they provided testing to return to the US. Ubers to the city we’re quite cheap, so I wasn’t stuck at the resort all day. But since the resort was well under capacity, it was pretty relaxing on the grounds. I don’t think I’d want to stay there, however, when it was packed. I got the stay points immediately after returning and the bonus points a little while later. Be safe and enjoy.
