Multiple no-annual-fee Citi credit cards that offer limited access to ThankYou® transfer partners. With these cards, you can transfer rewards to just three travel partners or redeem them in other ways. But come July 27, 2025, those transfer ratios are set to devalue.
Here’s what you need to know, and why it makes sense to pair your no-annual-fee card with the Citi Strata Premier℠ Card to get more out of your hard-earned points.
Citi to Devalue Three Transfer Ratios on No-Annual-Fee Cards in July
Plenty of no-annual-fee Citi credit cards allow you to transfer points to a limited set of three travel partners: JetBlue TrueBlue, Choice Privileges, and Wyndham Rewards. The cards that offer this limited access include:
- Citi Double Cash® Card
- Citi Rewards+® Card (no longer open to new applicants)
- Citi ThankYou® Preferred Card (no longer open to new applicants)
- Citi ThankYou® Mastercard® credit card (no longer open to new applicants)
- And several AT&T cards: AT&T Universal Rewards World, AT&T Universal Savings and Rewards, AT&T Universal Rewards, AT&T Points Plus Card, AT&T Access Card from Citi
Unless you carry a Citi ThankYou Points-earning card with an annual fee, like the Citi Strata Premier or Citi Prestige® Card (no longer open to new applicants), your current transfer ratios to these three partners are 1:0.8 for JetBlue, 1:1.5 for Choice, and 1:0.8 for Wyndham. But on July 27, those rates will incrementally drop to:
- JetBlue: 1:0.7
- Choice: 1:1.4
- Wyndham: 1:0.7
If you regularly transfer your points to these partners and don't want to add another Citi card to your wallet, it's worth initiating your last transfer before the devaluation takes effect. However, if you prefer to redeem your rewards for statement credits, direct deposits, or checks, these upcoming changes won't affect you.

Why pair your no-annual-fee Citi card with the Citi Strata Premier?
Pairing credit cards is one of the easiest ways to boost your rewards. And with Citi, pairing the Citi Strata Premier with your no-annual-fee card unlocks the full list of Citi transfer partners, and better transfer ratios.
Say you’re a fan of the Citi Double Cash Card. You’re already earning 2X points on everything (1% when you buy plus 1% as you pay — delivered as points). Now pair that with the Citi Strata Premier’s bonus categories, and you can supercharge your rewards:
- 10X points per $1 on hotels, car rentals, and attractions booked through CitiTravel.com
- 3X points per $1 spent on airfare, and other hotel purchases
- 3X points per $1 spent at gas and EV charging stations
- 3X points per $1 spent on dining at restaurants, including cafes, bars and lounges
- 3X points per $1 spent at supermarkets
- 1X points per $1 spent on all other purchases
In other words, you can earn up to 10X points on every dollar you spend — but never less than 2X. That's pretty rewarding. And, yes, you can transfer those points to all 21 transfer partners.
- 3X points per $1 on airfare and hotels and at gas stations, restaurants, and supermarkets
- Annual Hotel Benefit: Save $100 off a single hotel stay of $500 or more (excluding taxes and fees) when you book through CitiTravel.com
- No foreign transaction fees
- $95 annual fee
- 10X points per $1 on hotels, car rentals, and attractions booked through CitiTravel.com
- 3X points per $1 spent on airfare, and other hotel purchases
- 3X points per $1 spent at gas and EV charging stations
- 3X points per $1 spent on dining at restaurants, including cafes, bars and lounges
- 3X points per $1 spent at supermarkets
- 1X points per $1 spent on all other purchases

Final Thoughts
On July 27, 2025, Citi will devalue the transfer ratios to three partners: JetBlue, Choice, and Wyndham. These changes only apply to those with no-annual-fee Citi cards that offer limited access to transfer partners. If you have a Citi card with an annual fee — or if you typically redeem your points in other ways — you won’t be affected.
It’s a disappointing development, but not exactly unprecedented. Just recently, Citi also notified cardholders with access to all 21 partners that the Emirates Skywards transfer ratio will devalue on the same date. Here's to hoping that this is the beginning and end of transfer ratio devaluations — industry-wide.
