Delta Airlines has announced a Black Friday sale on select routes from the contiguous US to destinations in Australia & Europe. The sale is on cash fares and award tickets, with cash fares starting from $659 round-trip in main cabin, while award fares start from 36,000 SkyMiles plus taxes and fees in main cabin. If you are interested in one of the routes, you will have to book quickly since bookings must be made by November 25, 2018.

Our Take
Delta is marketing this Black Friday sale as “THE SALE OF THE YEAR IS HERE” which—it comes as no surprise—is not the case. We have seen much better deals to Australia in August 2018, and better deals to Europe in June 2018. That being said, there is still some good value to be had with this sale, so it is worth casting your eye over to see if you find an interesting deal.

I checked ORD/ZRH for the entire month of June 2019. Best deal was 74,000 miles round trip economy, not a very good deal at all.

Despite it not being the biggest sale of the year, it is nice to see a major travel player getting in on Black Friday.
Just flew International on Delta A330, was a great experience. Nice size seats in economy and check-in was smooth

Delta is certainly my go to airline. that said I could not find any good Business fares to either location.
Yet Delta charges 30,000 points most days to go to rural Minnesota domestically.
Perhaps some folks will benefit from this sale on Skymiles. Unfortunately, I will not.
