Alaska Airlines has announced a promotion that allows you to earn double miles for economy flights throughout the summer of 2017 on selected routes with partner airlines. The offer is valid through September 30, 2017.
Key Promotion Terms
- You must register to earn double miles with Alaska's partners
- Offer is valid for travel between June 1 and September 30, 2017
- Double miles earned are based on the class of service flown
- Double miles do not count towards Elite Status
- Allow 4-6 weeks for the miles to post to your account
Which Airlines and Routes
Although the bonus miles only cover economy fares, and not Business or First, there is a wide selection of travel options included in the offer, thanks to Alaska’s many partnerships. The full list of routes and airlines is extensive, but some include:
- British Airways – San Diego to/from London
- Cathay Pacific – Los Angeles to/from Hong Kong
- Emirates – Los Angeles to/from Dubai
- Japan Airlines – San Diego to/from Tokyo Narita
- Korean Air – Seattle to/from Seoul
Our Take
This is great news especially if you are traveling over the summer, and want to pick up some extra miles. 100% bonus on base mileage is always welcome, plus any additional Elite bonus miles. Another significant aspect of the promotion is that you will still earn the bonus if the promotional route is part of a longer journey. Are there any Alaska promotional routes that grab your attention this Summer?

Alaska Airlines is one of my favorite carriers! Thanks for posting.
No more Delta partner, I think this is to show Delta up. Alaska has a lot more going on for customers than Delta and their Skypeso program.
Mileage Plan is great, but if it really wants to be the best mileage program, it needs to offer more non-North America options…
The only thing we need now is access to awards which don’t begin or end in North America.
Very healthy promotion. If I only had a trip to Asia coming up. Cathay rocks
Alaska Airlines is one of my favorites. This is a great offer!
I have flown Alaska a number of times. They truly are a great airline for passengers compared to the other legacy carriers, I will try to maximize this offer to my benefit.
Shame its only economy flights in my case!
they should do this for first and business also
It’s good to see Alaska do these promos. Keep growing AS!
Lots of people like Alaska Airlines. I’m seeing more and more promotions from Alaska. Could this be from the merger with Virgin Atlantic? It’s a nice promo! If I still lived in the Pacific Northwest then I would look more closely at them but they don’t really travel where I need right now.
looks good but nothing to TPE which is where i have to go 🙁
Interesting that they are giving this bonus for partner flights. I wonder how Alaska benefits from this?
Alaska is like the cheese standing alone as it isn’t a member of any major airline alliance, but rather has formed its own alliance of sorts. This is a way for it to promote the strength of that partnership and encourage use of its program with its partners. Mileage Plan is profitable for Alaska, so it makes sense for them to promote the program.
I wish they just do promotions automatically without having to register first.
That would just be a giveaway! We agree that it is a hassle, but it keeps people engaged.
Not a bad way if you are going in economy anyways.
Wow. This is incredibly generous of Alaska.
It seems like they are trying to beat Delta out of their markets.
great offer. huge bonus
I wish I still lived on the west coast. I’ll take these partners, but not from there.
Double miles is cool. I still miss the old days of triple miles on TWA.
Alaska is arguably the best domestic airline…. Points deals like this are very very attractive
I would like to fly Qantas again to Australia!
So, Condor is not Part of the Promotion?
Unfortunately, not.
I love Alaska miles, some great redemption seats to be had on alliance airlines, thanks for posting!
the bonus is nice, but not worth flying coach for.
The offer is very good, it’s a pity that the routes valid for the offer are not a lot.
I think the eligible flights also have to be under respective airlines code
Pretty generous bonus. Alaska has some solid redemption values for various trips, so I’ll try to take advantage of this if it makes sense.
