Update: British Airways didn't note any geographic limitations for linking your Uber and Executive Club accounts. However, users located outside of the UK generally aren't seeing the option to link their Executive Club account. So, it seems that there are unstated geographic limitations.
Quite a few rewards programs are teaming up with rideshare apps. The newest partnership is between British Airways and Uber. Executive Club members can earn 250 bonus Avios just by linking Uber to their Executive Club membership account. Later this month, members will also be able to earn Avios on Uber rides in the U.K.
Earning Avios with Uber Promotion
Earlier this year, Marriott Bonvoy had a promotion offering 1,000 bonus points just for linking their account to Uber.
Now, British Airways is giving Executive Club members 250 bonus Avios to link their account to Uber before December 31, 2022. All you need to do is link your BA Executive Club account to Uber in the settings menu of the Uber app.
Unlike the Marriott promotion offered earlier this year, you don't need to take an eligible ride to get your bonus.
Later this month, Executive Club members will also be able to earn Avios on Uber rides in the UK, at the rate of 1 Avios per GBP. The exact date this will go into effect has yet to be announced. When it is, we'll see more details and the terms and conditions for earning Avios with Uber. We expect that this will work similarly to other partnerships where points are rewarded on the base fare — not including taxes, fees, and tips.
Note that only Uber rides in the U.K. will be eligible to earn Avios. So, it's not certain that you can earn the bonus Avios for linking your Executive Club membership to a North American Uber account. But, it's worth a try.
Our Take
The bonus Avios for linking accounts isn't that much, but every little bit helps — especially when there's no expenditure needed. It will be better later this month when you can start earning Avios on Uber rides. If you're looking to earn more Avios right now, check out the promotion to earn double Avios on British Airways flights currently going on.
Make sure to use our guide on how to earn the most Avios, such as signing up and using the British Airways Visa Signature® Card to earn 75,000 bonus Avios.

Can’t find how to perform this linking anywhere. Tried Uber Website & App and BA Exec Club a/c.
Anybody know how to delete previously linked promotions (e.g. Marriott) from the Uber app? When I delete Marriott, it doesn’t disappear to allow me to add BA. (The Uber app tells me it’s been unlinked, but the app doesn’t allow me to enter BA to replace it.)
Anyone figure out how to do this?
There’s no option for BA in the settings of the Uber App.
It should be live soon. Or it could be that it’s only available for UK Uber users.
Same… No Option for this… and UBER app is up to date.
The option to link my Uber account to BA doesn’t even exist in Uber. Marriott appears but BA does not.
Do I have to be a UK resident to get the bonus?
British Airways didn’t list any geographic restrictions in its press release about this bonus:
“To celebrate the new partnership, Members who link their Executive Club and Uber accounts via the Uber app will receive 250 bonus Avios.”
“Users simply need to link their Executive Club and Uber accounts, by entering their details into the Uber app in the settings section.”
“All British Airways Executive Club Members will be able to collect Avios through the Uber App by the end of the month.”
