British Airways just announced a promotion to give Executive Club members double Avios on up to four flights before January 31, 2023, but you need to register and book before November 20, 2022. This is the perfect opportunity to see Hogmanay in Edinburgh or another destination for the holidays.
British Airways Double Avios Promotion
This is a rather simple promotion, but with a small booking window. You have until November 20, 2022, to register and book up to four flight segments with British Airways or one of its transatlantic partners.
First, register for this promotion here. Then book up to four flights with British Airways, American Airlines, Finnair, or Iberia before November 20, 2022. Your travel dates must be before January 31, 2023. Flights with AA, Finnair, and Iberia must be transatlantic and codeshared with BA.
You will earn double Avios on up to four flights. That's four flight segments. Most likely, you'll be able to accomplish that with a single trip, depending on your departure and arrival cities. After all, transfers are not uncommon when traveling between the US and Europe.
Terms and Conditions
- You must register before booking your first flight. A thank you message will display to confirm registration.
- The Double bonus Avios will be awarded on the first four flight segments flown after registering. It does not matter which order they were booked in.
- Bonus Avios will be awarded up to 3 days after each flight segment. Partner airline flights can take up to 7 days to post.
- This promotion is not retroactive to previously booked flights.
Double Avios is always a nice promotion. The two limitations of this offer are the narrow booking window, and that you will be awarded on your first four flights, not the first four bookings. If you're really working to maximize your Avios, you might want to fly your long-haul flights with British Airways and their partners, and then fly locally in Europe with other carriers.
If you have a multi-city trip, the first four flights get double Avios. Say you're flying round-trip from Seattle to Rome via New York and London. You're going to get bonus points for Seattle to NY, NY to London, London to Rome, and Rome back to London. As such, it might be a better idea to book London to Rome round trip with another carrier, to get your bonus points with the long-haul flights between Seattle, NY, and London.
Make sure to use our guide on how to earn the most Avios, such as signing up and using the British Airways Visa Signature® Card — which is currently offering 75,000 bonus Avios to eligible new cardholders.
