For IHG members not participating in the Summer Accelerate or Share Forever campaigns, IHG Rewards has unveiled Double Up, a promotion to earn double airline miles in your preferred loyalty program.

IHG Rewards Club Double Up PromotionFrom June 1 until August 31, 2016, earn double miles with participating loyalty programs. You must be an IHG member and have your earning preference switched over to the miles option inside your account.

IHG Double Up Participating Airlines

Although there are close to 30 participating airlines, if your preferred miles plan is not a part of the promotion you can earn the equivalent IHG Rewards points and have them converted to the program of your choice. Just call the IHG Rewards Club call centre at the end of the promotion to request a transfer.

You can earn a maximum 10,000 air miles through this promotion (as opposed to a minimum 30,000 IHG Rewards points through IHG Accelerate)

Final Thoughts

While not the most generous campaign available this summer, IHG Double Up provides another way of earning decent air miles for IHG members not participating in point earning promotions.

Check the IHG Airline Partners page for points earning rates on your preferred airline partner as rates vary, for example; American Airlines earns 2 miles/$1 at most IHG properties whereas British Airways only receives 1 mile/$1.

It takes 20 seconds to log into your IHG Rewards Club account and switch the settings from points to miles, a cheap investment of your time if you want to make 4x air miles on your IHG stays this summer.
