Things have been busy for airlines and their amenity kits recently, with both British Airways and JetBlue launching revamped amenity kits. Not to be outdone, Etihad has updated and launched a new line of amenity kits with the collaboration of luxury travel brand LUXE City Guides.

The Luxury Business Class travel kits were originally launched a year ago and featured themed kits to Abu Dhabi, Los Angeles, London, Madrid, Hong Kong, and Sydney. The kits included hand cream, honey lip balm, ear plugs, a sleeping mask, and socks, as well as toothpaste and brush. The products come from luxury London-based brand Scaramouche + Fandango.

What made the original kits stand out against other business class kits was the inclusion of a mini city guide by LUXE. The mini-guides covered everything a business traveler could want in one visit and included restaurants, bars, boutiques, spas, and upscale bespoke shopping experiences.

The newly redesigned kits feature five new cities, São Paulo, Bangkok, Melbourne, New York and Rome. Needless to say, Etihad’s home city of Abu Dhabi makes a comeback with its own redesigned kit.

The design of the kits is primarily influenced by the architecture of the respective cities. The Abu Dhabi kit is based on the complex mosaics of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the Rome kit on the Colosseum and other ancient architectural features, the stunning temples of Bangkok are reflected in its kit and the yellow cabs, and the grid-like structure of New York are the main influences for its kit. The São Paulo kit reflects the iconic pavement pattern of the city, while the Melbourne kit takes its influences from the coastline, Yarra River, and some of the city’s iconic 19th-century buildings.

Etihad Airways’ Vice President Guest Experience Calum Laming stated that “The partnership with exciting and innovative young brands such as LUXE City Guides and Scaramouche and Fandango has proved very popular. The luxury amenities, collectible guides and functional bag complement Etihad Airways’ Business Class experience, adding extra color, character, and innovative flair to our service and hospitality offering.”

We've got to give Etihad credit for the creativity and quality they're putting into their amenity kits. Have you picked up one of these?
