It was only two days ago that we reported on the Club Carlson elite status match, and today we are back with another one. This time from Aeromexico Club Premier.
Aeromexico is offering to match the elite status you have with another airline to either Club Premier Gold or Platinum status. You can see a list of the equivalent elite tiers they are matching below.
What Information Will You Need To Supply For A Free Aeromexico Status Match?
To be considered for an elite status match with Aeromexico, you need to complete the application form on the promotion page and upload copies of:
- Valid Picture I.D. (government issued)
- Copy of Frequent Flyer Member Card
- Most recent account statement from the loyalty program
A few other details to note before emailing your application
- The statement must contain the name and level of the program from which you belong.
- The personal data contained in your membership information must match the information on your official ID.
What Benefits Does Aeromexico Elite Status Provide?
Elite status with Aeromexico does not bring huge benefits on its own, but it does gain you SkyTeam Elite Plus status, opening up access to SkyTeam's lounges when on international itineraries.

Platinum:

Complimentary upgrades are tied to the class of fare purchased, and you need to purchase a full (or very close to full) priced fare to be considered for an upgrade request.
SkyTeam Elite Plus status comes with some great perks which include SkyTeam lounge access on international flights, free checked bags, and priority check-in, security screening, and boarding. These benefits carry through to SkyTeam partner airlines including Korean Air, Air France, KLM, and Delta.
What Is Required To Retain Club Premier Elite Status?
If Aeromexico accepts your status match request, your new Club Premier status will be valid for six months. To maintain status, you need to earn at least 40% of the required Premier Points for the status granted, and Aeromexico will assess each client's status after six months.
- To retain Gold: 20,000 Premier Points (normally 50,000)
- To retain Platinum: 32,000 Premier Points (normally 80,000)
Final Thoughts
Your travel plans with Aeromexico and SkyTeam in the next six months will dictate the value received from a status match. However, SkyTeam Elite Plus status offers some significant benefits, including when flying Delta on domestic routes (free checked bags anyone?), and access to SkyTeam lounges when traveling international itineraries.
