This IHG Accelerate promotion has ended, however, please review the most recent promotion.

IHG has released their Accelerate promotion for fall 2017. Like all Accelerate promotions, it is tiered like a game, with more and more earnings the more nights you stay. Normally IHG has several versions of the Accelerate promotion, so you will have to check your IHG Rewards Club account to see your exact promotion. My promotion this fall will yield 37,000 points for a total of 19 nights.

IHG Accelerate August 2017

Promotion Overview

The promotion has relatively few terms and conditions, although it is always best to check the full IHG Accelerate Q3 2017 terms if you're going to invest in the promo.

  • Promotion runs from September 1, through December 31, 2017
  • You must register for the promotion

My current promotion comprises 8 tasks to earn 37,000 points:

  • Earn 3,000 points, when you stay once before September 30, 2017
  • Earn 2,000 points bonus for a one-night stay
  • Earn 5,000 points bonus after staying 4 nights
  • Earn 3,000 points bonus after staying 7 nights
  • Earn 3,000 points bonus after staying 10 nights
  • Earn 3,000 points bonus after staying 13 nights
  • Earn 3,000 points bonus after staying 16 nights
  • Earn 15,000 points bonus after staying 19 nights

Value To Be Had

While I would have to spend 19 nights in IHG properties to maximize my earnings, there is still some value to be had with a partial completion: staying 4 nights, with at least one of them being in September, I will earn 10,000 bonus points which are enough for 2 award nights with the IHG PointBreaks promo.

Overall

The IHG Accelerate promotions do offer great value, with four promotions per year all offering between 20,000 to 60,000+ points; it is an excellent way to really boost your earnings. Completing all the promotions will earn you more than enough points for a couple of nights at a top-tier property like the Intercontinental Park Lane in London or the Intercontinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa. Overall it is always worth registering for IHG Accelerate since even if you don’t complete all the tasks, you will still pick up some bonus points even for the most minimal of stay patterns.

  • My promotion is slightly better than last one. The only problem is that I must to stay twice in Intercontinental – need to make my math to understand if it’s worth to switch from cheaper brands. How much worth 1000 IHG points?

  • Considering the Hilton promos on AMEX Offers page, I just can’t see the value in chasing these points when the MR points plus Honors points add up for me much faster. Wish the same double pay off could be acquired with IHG.

  • I can’t find my new promotion. I’m not sure if it is just because the IHG site is not very user friendly or if is because I barely participated in the current promotion. I am very likely to stay more during the time period covering the next promotion so I’m hoping it will still be offered to me.

  • Mine’s bad again. Stay 3 nights… stay 3 more nights, etc.

  • My offer is not bad at all:

Complete all of your Accelerate offers and earn 49,000 total bonus points.
    * Stay Once, Get 2,000 bonus points
    * Get closer to the rewards you want when you stay 5 night(s) and earn 10,000 bonus points.
    * Earn 9,000 bonus points when you book 1 Bonus Points Package stay(s) and get to your next reward faster.
    * Book and pay for one stay at any IHG hotel using your IHG® Rewards Club Premium Credit Card and earn 1,500 bonus points.
    * Complete 3 of the 4 offers and earn (an additional) 17,500 bonus points.
    * Stay 2 or more nights at participating IHG® hotels in New York City and earn 4,000 bonus points.
    * Stay once in September and get 5,000 bonus points.

    • Remember, all of the tasks can stack so if you stay 5 nights in New York on a bonus points package in September and pay for it with an IHG credit card you’ll get all the points!

Now, I don’t know if it makes sense based on your travel patterns but that is not a bad deal overall.

  • My account still showing the old promo.

  • Thanks. The article reminded me to sign up. My offer is something similar to that posted in the original article. I’m not sure if I’ll get too much out of it, but it is better to be signed up just in case.

  • I can complete five tasks to earn 40,000 points, I will have to check my travel plans to see if it is worthwhile.

  • As I had very few stays at IHG lately, I can complete the promo with a few stays.
If I can I’ll try to complete this promo.

  • Miss the free/non-stay points for these promotions

  • I love it when loyalty programs feature games. It makes it much more exciting to rack up points.

  • this is when it’s great to control family accounts. you get to see the different types of incentives offered, and choose the best options. i haven’t traveled based on offers from my account in over a year. most of it has been through another’s.

  • Got the new promo in my account, it’s fairly easy especially when on business to fulfil the requirements and net yourself a nice haul of ihg points.

  • Not incentivized by my offer. Again. Haven’t had a good offer for years now.

  • Jacqueline parsons says:

Checked my account today and I’m in. In our chosen locations we’re finding ihg stays about the best out of all on offer in the areas so a nice bonus on top.

  • mine is pretty good offer but can never take advantage since the point of earning points is to not use $ at hotels (or at least the least amount of $). And I have enough points for my needs. Not IHG though. Hilton points are much easier to earn and that’s without staying and paying.

  • 88,000 possible for me

  • Love the IHG Accelerate program, but sadly I’ll be headed for Antarctica the 2nd week of September and won’t be able to achieve Q3 this year!

  • My offer is similar to Goldena’s:
Complete all of your Accelerate offers and earn 46,000 total bonus points.
    * Stay Once, Get 2,000 bonus points
    * Get closer to the rewards you want when you stay 5 night(s) and earn 10,000 bonus points.
    * Earn 6600 (vs. 9,000) bonus points when you book 1 Bonus Points Package stay(s) and get to your next reward faster.
    * Book and pay for one stay at any IHG hotel using your IHG® Rewards Club Premium Credit Card and earn 1,500 bonus points.
    * Change Your View® : Stay at 2 Holiday Inn® hotel(s)—including Holiday Inn Resort® and Holiday Inn Club Vacations®—and earn 5,600 bonus points.
This ‘un is also in my Summer Accelerate offer! Why 2 Holiday Inns? Why not 2 different brands of my choosing?

    * Complete 4 of the 5 ABOVE offers and earn (an additional) 14,300 (vs. 17,500) bonus points.

    * Stay 2 or more nights at participating IHG® hotels in New York City and earn 3,000 bonus points.
    * Stay once in September and get 3,000 bonus points.

  • joel kling says:

The best deal with IHG in my opinion is just to have there credit card. You get a FREE night just by paying the annual fee for $49, Got a free night at he Palazzo, Las vegas. I did have to pay the hotels resort fee.

  • B1BomberVB says:

+1 Joel Kling! In 2013 I used my annual freebie at the IC of Cannes, France, in August! Money price of the room was ~850 euros or US$1150 per night! This year I used mine at the HIX of Virginia Beach Oceanfront vs. revenue rate incl. tax of ~$300.

  • I did get this email but haven’t see it til now..you know, vaca and all. I even had to go to page two reading through all the posts! lol! I’ll have lots to read through.

I’m not going to be staying in any hotels currently so no way to use my bonuses with IHG. Maybe the next time it comes around ;o)

  • Strange: The Accelerate page said on Nov. 16 that I had completed my offers, but IHG waited till Nov. 20 to deposit the points earned into my account! Anyway, I completed all 5 of my “ABOVE” offers, so I earned 40K points, putting me at 70K now!
