Traveling with kids can be expensive, especially if you have several children. But if you want to take a trip to Scandinavia in the next few months, here’s some great news. SAS has announced a limited time offer for trips to Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland where kids fly for free, and you just need to pay the taxes and fees. What is even more surprising is that you can take up to 8 children with you for free!
Key Terms
The offer is very simple: travel has to be booked by January 23, 2017, for travel between February 7, and April 9, 2017, and that’s it—there are no other preconditions.
Trying a few searches on the SAS website, flights become rather cheap; a round-trip in economy class from New York to Stockholm for one adult and eight kids comes in at $1,219.62. The offer even applies to SAS Plus fares which give you extra legroom, extra baggage allowance, FastTrack security, wider seats, free Wi-Fi, and lounge access.

This is a fantastic offer, especially for large families. You can easily use one of the Scandinavian countries before jumping into Europe with many of the low-cost carriers around. While it is not clear whether the kids have to be your children or you can take other family members such as nephews and nieces, it does seem that there are no general restrictions. So if you have a large family and want to pick a great deal on an overseas trip, then this is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of this offer from SAS.

Great promo for families. SAS is our favorite airline due to service and culture.
I’ve found that SAS is quite proud of their nordic/scandinavian culture. Having been to Sweden, it’s great to see how many strollers there are at any given time, no matter the freezing temperatures.
Up to 8 children with 1 adult…that sounds like a nightmarish flight 🙂
This promo is going to grant many kids Star Alliance gold status. 🙂
What is their definition of child?
I found it on the website – ages 2-11.
It’s interesting while some airlines try to restrict kids travel and offer kids free business product SAS has come up with something like that!
Haha I love the idea of taking someone else’s kids – that’s my idea of a nightmare personally!
