Priority Pass has announced its latest addition to its non-lounge group of locations with Bobby Van’s Steakhouse in JFK’s Terminal 8. The move expands the number of Priority Pass venues in JFK to 4, with two lounges in Terminal one, one lounge in Terminal 4, as well as Bobby Van’s in Terminal 8.
What You Get
The restaurant is open from 06:00 AM to 10:00 PM and serves a variety of fare that other Bobby Van's establishments are well known for. Using your Priority Pass membership, you will receive the following:
- $28 credit towards food and drink
- Another $28 credit for a qualifying guest
- You are restricted to one guest only regardless of your individual Priority Pass membership policy
Priority Pass Membership
There are different types of Priority Pass membership; the most generous type is Priority Pass Select which is complimentary with various premium credit cards. Cards that give you complimentary Priority Pass Select membership include:
- Chase Sapphire Reserve®
- Citi Prestige® Card
- The Ritz-Carlton™ Credit Card
Our Take
This is excellent news if you regularly use Terminal 8, which primarily services American Airlines as it had no Priority Pass lounge. With the addition of Bobby Van’s, at least you can pop in with a companion for a drink or a snack. Looking at their menu, the hardest thing will be to decide what to have!

Great for a cocktail and even a snack…
Great that this is expanding!
I agree with the comments that these additional to the PP are warmly welcomed. This idea of adding restaurants to the PP was great idea of the PP that added more value to your product. As for this specific restaurant I do not know to give an opinion, but in a terminal that had few options for PP, I think it was very good, then PP would not add any restaurant to the product.
food was good, but not great
Oh that’s great news! We rarely have access to lounges when traveling through the US. Planning on using one the Sydney airport options today for the first time.
Wow! This is truly a quality benefit
Having my Amex, which includes Priority Pass, offers amazing value. I thought lounge access was a great benefit, but they’re continually adding additional, valuable benefits. And now, adding this restaurant is icing on the cake…I’ll be there next month. Can’t wait to try it.
Not yet used non-lounge properties but would like to try soon indeed.
It seems that PP is getting better all the time!
I wonder why one woman couldn’t get in? That does worry me. I don’t have PP and it makes me pause if they say they are accepted at a lounge and then the person is turned away. Maybe the lounges were full.
If someone isn’t allowed in, and they have a valid card, it is purely due to capacity reasons.
This is a great trend to see. Less mediocre lounges and more good eats!
Love this restaurant!
Thats really a cool plus! Love it!
Agree, PP lounges getting too crowded and often restrict access during “peak” times which is by default when most people want to use it.
I’ve come across this a few times now where the lounge is “full” to PP members, yet isn’t “full” if you pay extra to book.
Always love seeing Priority Pass expand its partnerships.
Looking forward to trying this next time I am in JFK instead of Admirals Club options.
Heck yes!
Love these posts!
I will make Bobby Van’s a stop on my next trip on JFK AA.
PLEASE share your experience!
Quick follow up: I noticed that their T&C says “To be eligible, Cardholders must present a valid card before placing an order”. Does this mean you have to show your PP card again or just a CC? Never used a restaurant as opposed to a lounge, so wasn’t sure.
Your PP card. Always your PP card.
Wow! This is a nice surprise – I’ll be honest, PP hasn’t been too worthwhile for me for my travels mainly because of the lounges being in a different terminal (I’d need to clear security to get to, ex: BWI) but this is an exciting enhancement.
I don’t fly through JFK often but I do like that they are adding options besides a lounge.
Thanks for the heads up!
Is there a list somewhere of ALL “non-lounge” locations included that we can refer to?
Yes, here: https://awardwallet.com/blog/priority-pass-benefits-just-lounges/. The search function at the top of the page works quite well.
Thanks!
Nice link – thanks for this.
I look forward to trying this I just had my priority pass membership upgraded, and ive never really had much opportunity to use my limited membership before. I just didn’t understand it well. More reading needed.
There’s always more reading to be done with loyalty programs. It never ends. That’s why quality blog filters have their value!
Still waiting for the Centurion lounge at JFK. Can we move between terminals post-security?
JFK is one of the worst airports to try to get between terminals. For some yes, for all, no.
Great news — it’s great to have these new options. Kudos to PP for their creativity…
Can’t wait to try this!
Could you run down how exactly it is used at Restaurants? Do you register when you first sit down or what?
It varies by place. Click on the restaurant and you can read about their specific process.
These restaurants are a great deal. Although I’m not going through JFK in a while, I am traveling through Miami next week and I think I will try the Priority Pass Restaurant there. We only have a short layover there. It’s funny how that used to be a good thing whereas now, when I can enjoy a good lounge or restaurant, I’m not happy about it! I guess that means the program is working.
Priority pass has added some very good restaurants around the world lately. I’ve tried two of them already.
Another nice amenity at a nice airport. Too bad they put it so far out of the way. I’ll have to settle for the mediocre airline lounges at the bare basics airport, LaGuardia.
Love this restaurant.
Nice. I’m starting to think that these non-lounge locations are better than the usual crowded air lounges.
Especially since they keep kicking PP users out of the those lounges. I went from LAX>EWR>LHR>AMS>LGW and was not allowed into 3 of the six lounges I tried to enter. Luckily LGW had a restaurant as well, and we got a nice lunch.
I like how PP is branching out into restaurants. This is a big plus for people with unlimited memberships.
No kidding. I wish this was advertised a bit more clearly than just in the blogs. It would add some value to their memberships.
It’s great that PP keeps adding new venues, and expanding their footprint. Hopefully it will continue. Thanks for the heads-up!
