Is It Worth It?
Aegean has a pretty generous partner award chart; one-way transatlantic awards in Business will set you back 45,000 miles, and 60,000 miles in First. Purchasing 33,000 miles for approximately $910 will yield a total 46,200 miles. That is enough for a one-way transatlantic trip in Business using Swiss, Lufthansa, Turkish, or a host of other carriers, which represents pretty good value for money.
Purchasing 43,000 miles will yield 60,200 miles including the bonus and will set you back approximately $1,223. That is enough for a one-way First class transatlantic award, which is a great value when you consider the cash price for the same booking.
Aegean is often mentioned as one of the best Star Alliance programs to earn Elite status with. Like our favorite Star Alliance loyalty program EgyptAir, it does have some great value on redemptions. So, if you have some upcoming travel plans, you might want to have a good look at this promotion. It looks like the purchase is processed directly by Aegean; maximize your earning with a credit card that awards bonus points for purchases directly with an airline.
