Sometime in 2025, Muscat-based Oman Air is slated to join the Oneworld alliance — although the timeline has slipped. But no matter the delays, Oman Air awards are already bookable through some Oneworld member airlines — first Alaska Airlines, and now Qantas. Starting today, you can redeem Qantas Frequent Flyer points for Oman Air award flights.
What do these flights cost when booked through Qantas? And where can Oman Air take you? Here's what you need to know.
Oman Air Awards Bookable Through Qantas Frequent Flyer
Qantas has a new redemption partner, which was added to its Frequent Flyer program with absolutely no fanfare. But it's something we're here for, as you can now redeem Qantas points for Oman Air award flights. Oman Air can take you to several destinations from its hub in Muscat (MCT).

The Middle Eastern airline has an exceptional business class product. And it's worth noting that while it had an exceptional first class product as well, Oman Air retired these seats earlier this year.
But if you're wondering, you can book several of Oman Air's routes for incredible value through Qantas Frequent Flyer — including its lavish business class. For example, you can enjoy the pointy end of the plane between Muscat and Bangkok for 61,200 points plus taxes and fees.

Or, you can trek from Muscat down to Zanzibar, Tanzania, for as little as 24,500 Qantas points in economy. The options are endless as far as Oman Air's route map is concerned.

Seats.aero is the easiest way to spot Oman Air awards bookable through Qantas. However, upon our own checks, we're seeing additional Oman Air routes bookable with Qantas points than Seats.aero is.

What does Qantas Frequent Flyer charge for Oman Air awards?
Qantas posts a trio of partner award charts, all of which are distance-based. The “partner classic flight reward” table applies to Oman Air flights — although Oman Air isn't expressly listed as an eligible airline the table applies to.

The table above is also used to price awards on Air France, Finnair, Qatar Airways, WestJet, and several other carriers. Depending on where you want to travel to, this distance-based chart is one worth keeping in your back pocket.
How To Earn Qantas Frequent Flyer Points
Unless you're a Qantas frequent flyer or credit Oneworld flights to the airline's frequent flyer program, transferring credit card or Marriott Bonvoy points to Qantas Frequent Flyer is the easiest way to build a balance of points. The following currencies transfer to Qantas:

Final Thoughts
It's becoming increasingly easy to book Oman Air awards with partner airline points and miles. Qantas Frequent Flyer is the newest program to reflect Oman Air award availability, and the rates are pretty good.
Like Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan, Qantas uses distance-based charts to price partner awards. Depending on what currencies you have access to, it's worth comparing charts to get the best rates. But of the two programs, Qantas points are easier to earn, which is a boon if you'd like to book an award on its newest redemption partner.
