Now through October 31, 2026, Qatar Airways will award you with up to 35% bonus Avios when you transfer Citi ThankYou® Points (plus select other partner currencies) to Privilege Club. You won't see this bonus in your Citi account, but it's one you won't want to overlook.
What makes this transfer bonus especially valuable is that you’re not limited to redeeming your Avios through Qatar Airways. Several airlines use the Avios currency, and you can freely transfer points between Avios programs to maximize each one's best sweet spots.
Here are the details of this new Qatar transfer bonus, along with some of the best awards to consider booking.
Qatar Privilege Club Transfer Bonus Key Terms
Receive up to a 35% bonus when you transfer points from select programs to Qatar Airways Privilege Club.
The promotion is valid for transfers through October 31, 2026, at 23:59 (GMT+3).
This transfer bonus is sponsored by Qatar Airways, so you won’t see it reflected elsewhere.
The bonus Avios will be deposited into your Privilege Club account by November 30, 2026.
This is a tiered promotion, depending on how many points you convert into Avios:
1,000-49,999 points: Get a 15% bonus
50,000-99,999 points: Get a 25% bonus
100,000+ points: Get a 35% bonus
Citi offers two different transfer ratios: one for its no-annual-fee cards, and one for its premium cards. To maximize the bonus:
You will receive 135,000 Avios for every 100,000 Citi ThankYou Points you transfer from Citi's premium cards
You will receive 135,135 Avios for every 143,000 Citi ThankYou Points you transfer from Citi's no-annual-fee cards (you have to convert at least 100,000 Avios to get the maximum bonus)
You must transfer at least 1,000 points, and transfers can only be made in increments of 1,000 points.
Transfers from Citi to Qatar Airways can take up to 24 hours.
Here's the full list of eligible transfer programs — with the programs most relevant to our readers in bold:
Ahlibank, Alfardan Exchange, ALL Accor, AlRayan Bank, Bahrain Islamic Bank, Bank Albilad, Boubyan Bank, Capital on Tap, CIMB, Citibank, Doha Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank, Dukhan Bank, Emirates NBD, FlyerT, HeyMax , HSBC, ICSAB+, IHG Hotels & Resorts, Imtiaz, KARTY, Kuwait Finance House, Mashreq Vantage, mokafaa, almeera, National Bank of Kuwait, Ooredoo, PartsPay, pay.com.au, QNB Life Rewards, Rove, Shangri-La Circle, Signature Business Rewards, Symbion Elite Rewards, UOB, Vodafone Qatar, WalaOne and World of Hyatt.
There are plenty of ways to maximize this Qatar Airways transfer bonus. Here's a bit of inspiration:
Fly American or Alaska from the West Coast to Hawaii for as few as 16,000 Avios one-way in economy (14k Citi points).
Travel one-way to Doha in Qsuite business class from several U.S. gateways for 70,000 Avios (56k Citi points one-way, or just 52k each way if you book round-trip and transfer at least 100k points to get the 35% bonus).
Fly Qsuite business class from the U.S. to the Maldives for 85,000 Avios one-way (68k Citi points).
Your Qatar Airways Avios expire if you don't have accrual or redemption activity on your account for 36 months. Thankfully, there are a variety of ways that you can earn and redeem Avios to extend your points and validity.
Building up your Qatar Airways Avios balance is certainly not a bad idea, especially if you're planning some long-haul flights to the Middle East or beyond. You can also use your Avios for any Oneworld alliance partner. This means you can book flights on American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and several other carriers.
Qatar Airways' current up to 35% transfer bonus on Citi ThankYou Rewards transfers is available through October 31, 2026. While it's a solid offer, keep in mind that the bonus Avios may not post until November 30, 2026.
