The offer on the Citi® Hilton Honors™ Reserve Card has expired and the card is no longer open to applications. You can find all the details for the new Hilton co-brand cards in our dedicated post.
Love to travel? Love Hilton? Then the Citi® Hilton Honors™ Reserve Card may be just right for you. With irresistible offers and big sign-on bonuses, this card is easy to love.
Great Signup Bonus
Right now, if you sign up with the Hilton Reserve, you will receive two weekend night certificates after spending only $2,500 in the first 4 months of having the card. This is a huge bonus and could be worth several hundred dollars, depending on where you stay and when.
The $95 annual fee isn't waived for the first year.
Continued Earning Potential
Receive tons of points when you use your Hilton Reserve card at Hiltons, with 10 Honors points received for every dollar spent at Hilton properties. Earn 5 Honors points for airline spending and car rentals and 3 Honors points on all other categories. This builds up your account quickly!
If you spend more than $10,000 in 12 months, you will receive an annual weekend night certificate good for any participating Hilton property.
Automatic Gold Status
Hilton Reserve cardholders enjoy automatic Gold Status, which gives you free internet, breakfast, priority check-in/check-out, possible room upgrade, lounge access, and 25% higher earning on Hilton stays.
Hilton Gold status is the best mid-tier hotel status because of its free breakfast, and possible room upgrade/lounge access. If you stay at Hilton properties a couple of times per year, it's easy to justify keeping the Hilton Reserve in your wallet because of these benefits alone.
You can also receive top-tier Platinum status with Hilton if you spend $40,000 in a calendar year on your card.
Easy to Redeem Points!
Redeeming your Honors points is pretty simple. The free weekend night certificates that you receive as your sign-on bonus can be used at over 4,200 Hilton properties around the world. Choose the right hotels, in the right places, and this bonus can be worth more than $1,000 alone.
If you are planning travel to expensive or exotic places, then save your free weekend certificates for these trips! For example, you could use your two free nights at the Waldorf Astoria in Park City, or the Cavalieri hotel in Rome, Italy. That's value!
Another benefit of Honors points is that you can use them to reduce the cost of your stay, meaning that even if you don’t have enough points for a full night, you can get a huge discount using the points that you do have saved up. Cash and point redemptions are a good way to stretch out your points.
To redeem your Honors points, all you have to do is visit the website and check for the hotels where you would like to stay. If you've achieved Platinum status, then you are guaranteed a room as long as you book your reservation at least 48 hours in advance. So, go ahead and plan to go anywhere in the world! Remember, there are no foreign transaction fees, either, so you won’t have to worry about any unexpected extras!
What’s the Downside?
Although the Hilton Reserve offers some great benefits, especially if you really love Hilton hotels, some critics claim that the redemption value is less than some other credit cards out there. Hilton has devalued their award chart, so top end hotels are extremely expensive. But, with no blackout dates, and tons of options, it is still a pretty great card for those who can make good use of it.
Another downside is that you get less “bang” for your buck if you choose to redeem your Honors points for airline miles. By far, the best option is to use your points for hotel stays, and make sure you use those free weekend certificates!
The Hilton Reserve certainly has some great features, particularly if you are a big fan of Hilton. The two free weekend certificates are pretty valuable, especially since Hilton points are less valuable. Basically, the two free night certificates can be worth up to 180,000 Hilton points. This alone makes the Hilton Reserve a solid option.
The other major benefit to the Hilton Reserve is the instant Gold status you receive just for holding the card. Receiving these benefits on Hilton stays can go a long way to making your stay more comfortable and receiving value out of your Hilton Reserve card.
