Earlier this month we reported on the very generous promotion from Southwest for residents of California. The promo gave new holders of the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Business Credit Card, Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card, or the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card a Companion Pass after opening an account and making a purchase. The initial promo was targeted, and you had to apply via the link in your email. Southwest has now extended the offer to all California residents, and you can apply directly without the need for a special email link.
Points To Remember
- Use a special link for California residents only
- Rapid Rewards Credit Card accounts must be opened by November 30, 2017
- Offer is not valid for current holders of any Rapid Rewards credit cards
- Offer is not valid if you have held a Rapid Rewards credit card, and have received a signup bonus in the last 24 months
This is amazing news for California residents and takes away the need for any workarounds that people were trying to put in place to get themselves targeted by Southwest for the promotion. In terms of value, this promo has the potential to be incredibly valuable, especially now that Southwest has announced that they will be operating flights to Hawaii in 2018. If you fly Southwest on a regular basis or are planning to over the next year, then this offer is a no-brainer, and one of the easiest ways to earn the Southwest Companion Pass. We've even put together a post on how to squeak maximum value out of Rapid Rewards.
