Good, I should use the Marriott points.
Thank you for the info. Always looking at possibilities on transfer especially in programs I barely utilize
Thanks. I registered. Now I’m contemplating the Marriott transfer everyone is discussing. I have lots of Marriott
Seems like it’s still not a great transfer rate.
Any idea what an average one way/round trip flight floors for on United? Have quite a few Marriott/SPG points and not many miles so maybe I’ll take advantage here.
Check out United’s award chart: https://www.united.com/web/en-US/apps/mileageplus/awards/travel/awardTravel.aspx
I don’t have 60000 Marriott points at the moment.
The other hotel’s points transfer look not too good to me.
very helpful. do you think IHG points or United points are worth more? Is there a relative value chart anywhere?
I’d value 1 United mile at about 2.5 to 3.5 IHG points — but my travel goals primarily include international business/first class flights.
OH frustrating… I just recently transferred hotel points (SPG) to united as I need a flight and darn it! missed this bonus. I might just call them to see if it can be applied. Good for others, I guess though, thanks for the heads up.
I think I canceled my comment. Dang it.
I don’t believe I have enough Marriott points to really make this work for me.
I am looking to beef up my United miles so I might look at those Wyndham points that are just sitting there.
If you have UR, would it be beneficial to transfer to Marriott then United? Or IHG then United?
I don’t have that many Marriott points so I think I’d rather hold on to those. However, Wyndham is a possibility. Since I’m looking to beef up my United mileage, it’d help some since the points are just sitting there.
I need to transfer anyway to prevent those united miles from expiring

Being able to transfer points is great, but I wish the minimums weren’t as high. Every 5,000 points instead of every 10,000 would be great for some programs.
Generally it is always a poor deal transferring from hotel points to airline miles, however, the Marriott deal seems to be an exception with the current offer.
Staying at Mariott more often than flying United, so will keep building up Marriott , and then when it gets really large will think about it.
I see many comments about Marriott, but even with the bonus I think I prefer the Marriott points to the United miles. Saver space is somewhat limited with United and Marriott has some great deals before the end of the year on redemptions.
I agree with you. Marriott tends to come up with decent redemptions this time of year.
This might be useful for some people who have a lot of hotel points sitting around and who have an definite use for the United Points. I say definite rather than imminent because I recently helped a family member transfer Marriott points to United (before this bonus unfortunately) and after a couple of weeks, the points still haven’t arrived in her United account. It does say that the points could take up to 5 weeks to arrive, but I was hoping that it would be sooner than that.
Glad I read your post. Important to know it may take a few weeks for points to transfer!
Good to know!!
This is never a good use of miles, unless you’re desperately in need of points for a specific, immediate hotel booking, right?
This is transferring hotels to an airline, not the other way around.
Not usually a good idea to do this, but good to get a bonus if you’re going to do it
What about with Marriott?
no great value here
Really? What about with Marriott?
For Marriott to UA, it’s 3:1.1. And extra 5k for 60k transfer. So that’s 27 k per 60k pts. After adding the 30% bonus, the final ratio will be 60k Marriott to 35.1k. Not a bad rate.
Exactly!
Is 30% a good deal? I’m not sure since I use hotel points more than flying on United.
Look at Marriott.
This is great! Thanks for the heads up!
nice bonus.
personally i like having airline miles more than hotel points, so I’m going to consider this
Too bad Marriott travel packages are now excluded…
Glad I logged in to here today, didn’t know about this offer so jumped in.
For Marriott, SPG and Ritz Carlton, there’s also Rewardsplus.com
Yes, but the conversion bonus there is only 10%
Wish I had enough hotel points to transfer; 30 percent is a nice bonus.
