Here's what to know about the 10% Cathay bonus miles promotion, including how to register.
Cathay Pacific 10% Transfer Bonus Promotion
Through August 28, 2026, you can earn 10% bonus miles when you register for the promotion and convert your bank or hotel points into Asia Miles. There's a long list of eligible bank and hotel programs, which makes this promotion easy to take advantage of.
Asia Miles can be very valuable for booking both Cathay and Oneworld-operated itineraries. Plus, Cathay allows you to add stopovers in Hong Kong on select itineraries, which can be an easy and affordable way to explore a new city. If you have a plan for how you want to use your miles, this transfer bonus is worth looking into.

Eligible bank programs
Each of the following bank programs is eligible for the promotion:
Even with the bonus, you probably won't want to transfer your American Express Membership Rewards, considering it lowered the transfer ratio to 5:4 in March 2026. However, you could transfer up to 100,000 Capital One miles,
Eligible hotel programs
Although Cathay Pacific is a Hong Kong-based airline, this specific promotion is for U.S. residents. We are also finding a version of this promotion targeted for Canadian members — and there may be more.
U.S.-based members can transfer points from the following eligible hotel
- Accor Live Limitless
- Best Western Hotels & Resorts
Hilton Honors - InterContinental Hotels Group
- Shangri-La Hotels
- Hyatt
- Anantara Vacation Club
- Brilliant by Langham
- Dorsett

Cathay transfer bonus terms and conditions
- You must be a Cathay Pacific Asia Miles member and a legal resident of the U.S.
- You must register for the promotion with your membership number, name, and email address before transferring your bank or hotel points by August 28, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. PT.
- You will receive bonus miles equal to 10% of the miles transferred, up to 10,000 bonus miles per member.
- Bonus miles will be credited to your account within 12 weeks after the regular miles appear in your account.
Asia Miles Expiration Policy
Your Asia Miles will expire after 18 months of inactivity. However, there are plenty of ways you can extend the life of your miles:
- Earn miles by flying with Cathay or an airline partner or via hotel stays, online shopping, dining out, renting a car, and more.
- Redeem miles for flights with Cathay or a partner. There are plenty of other redemption methods, but these generally yield poor value.
- Transfer miles from partner programs, including during this promotion.
That's right, transferring bank or hotel points to Cathay during this promotion should extend the life of your miles that are about to expire. However, we don't recommend transferring miles speculatively — the miles you transfer will also expire after 18 months of inactivity. Make sure to add Cathay to your AwardWallet account if you haven't already to keep track of mileage expiration dates.

Our Take
Any opportunity to book a flight for fewer points is fantastic. This Cathay bonus point promotion is unique because you can transfer one of six bank or nine hotel currencies to get your bonus points. If you're interested in getting a bonus, make sure you register for the promotion and transfer your points by August 28, 2026.
Cathay isn't known for offering a ton of transfer bonuses, so if you know how you plan to use your Asia Miles, it's a promotion to consider. Even if you aren't sure whether you will transfer your points, it's worth taking a moment to register for the promotion. That way, if you end up transferring points, you'll get the bonus.
