Our Take
If you are planning on doing some shopping over the next week, then this is a good opportunity to pick up some bonus miles. Remember that if you are going to spend a larger amount it is worth splitting your shopping over both programs to maximize your earnings. It is also worth checking a site like CashbackMonitor.com to see how much you will earn per dollar from the various stores. This means you don’t just maximize your bonus miles earnings, but also your earning per dollar by making your purchases from the highest yielding stores.

This was a nice promo. Quick 500 points between both AA & United. I wish they had more monthly bonuses on easier spends.
Awesome tip. The AA website has great deals. My valentines might love it.
I used to use this all the time, but lately, I’ve been using TopCashBack. Any thoughts on why one is better than the other?
You used to use what all of the time but now use TopCashBack?
I loved, thanks for sharing!
Great tip for earning miles. Unfortunately I can not enjoy it. I’ll wait for the next opportunity.
I remember when the bonuses were a lot bigger. Makes sense if you were already buying something but its not enough to make me move up some purchases
I love portal shopping. Especially at Valentine’s. Everyone gets flowers and I enjoy a ton of points!
If shopping why not? Otherwise it’s not an offer very attractive.
Nice. I’ll make sure the hubby sees this. ?
oh man! I went from an email I got from American! I bet it won’t count against this. Oh well. Should have thought longer on it.
I do not think I’ll be hitting this. I like the Alaska promo, however, I’m really focusing on American and they sent me an email for a flat 1500mi promo. I found something for $40! I think I barely got in on that since anything lower it told me my zip required a certain dollar amount. I think I came out on top even if I didn’t qual for this promo :O)
thanks for the reminder .
I like these bonuses for things I would do anyway.
500 is not a great amount, but better than nothing I suppose!
Earn 500 bonus miles when you spend at least $150 on qualifying purchases
An easy 500 miles
Thanks! Appreciate the heads up. Time to stock up on a few (non-valentines) things.
They always have awesome deals! So glad I know how to use these shopping portals
Thanks for the reminder! Very helpful.
I love getting free miles! I just spent yesterday over $300 and didn’t even know about it!
Thanks
I will order flowers, flowers, flowers!
Cool bonus! I have a few things that I needed to get now… perfect timing to receive free miles. It always comes in handy!
Thank you for sharing this info!
Not that incentivizing but good to get some extra points if you’re spending anyway.
I’ll take a promo in any guise
Will make her day! Thank you for sharing.
What do you guys think about Alaska’s advertisement with the colorful people… for some reason it just looks off to me when skin color is blue/green.
They’re using their logo/brand color palette, simple as that.
I had no idea there was a blog to Award Wallet. Lots of great info here, thanks!
Thanks for the reminder!
Good bonus with a low spending threshold, would love to see more of these throughout the year
We all love low hanging fruit, don’t we!
This has been on my radar! Just waiting for my transactions to go through now.
Thanks for the heads up.
Awesome. I have a few stock up items I need for the house. Portal bonuses are always great to have.
Seems like the bonuses through the shopping portals aren’t as generous as before as recently they’ve only offered 500.
Agreed; they’re lower than we’ve seen historically — better than nothing though.
I don’t need anything now, so I’m waiting for better offers. If you make purchases from retailers that have gift certificates available on giftcertificates.com, you can always buy gift certificates now when there’s a bonus, and use them later when there isn’t a bonus.
Thanks for the heads up about giftcertificates.com gambit.
I’ve already earned my bonus for American so it’s time to switch to the other two. I wish Delta also did this but their shopping portal doesn’t seem so extensive or participate in these promotions as often as the others.
Love this promo and especially yesterday’s 5x at Apple.
Nice if there was something there that we needed
Easy way to earn extra miles, thanks for sharing!
Not bad! 500 free miles are always good. I just happen to have booked a Days Inn through the AA portal for just over $200 yesterday (not even knowing about this promo).
